Man, i really feel bad for all of these people who probably work 10 to 12 hour shifts just to make something, only for it to be screwed over by incompetent execs who act like they care about these shows, when really... they don'tSeveral known names (mostly people at Disney TVA) took to Twitter to air their sentiments about the situation. Proudly subbed to spanish.
TL; DR:
- Owen Dennis starts a mega-thread talking about the standards of the industry today, which have not really changed since the 90s. Despite animation reaching its cultural peak, the studios still expect animators to tolerate senseless deadlines.
- The crews are offended that they rarely receive the same amount of respect they have to give to the studios and are expected to just stand it.
- Animators are becoming more well known than ever and as such people can reach them to make their opinions heard. That doesn't apply to executives, who can get away with anything.
- Animators get hired for their following counts and are expected to give free publicity to their projects.
- It is advised that you make your properties into comics first so you have leverage about how the IP is used.
