The bronies, for some unknowable reason, had one of the highest per capita concentration of genuinely talented artists I've ever seen in any fandom.
BlackGryph0n was so talented he somehow managed to convince Sweetiebelle's VA to marry him.

Turns out that turning a 14 year old girl into your own little fuckdoll while living in her parent's house drastically increases the chances that she marries you later on, who knew?
I sometimes wonder if it's because they didn't want to let their queen Lauren Faust down. The uptick in fan animation and even fan fiction around this time dedicated to just ponies at first was astounding.
I think it was just down to a combination of dedication on the part of the creatives and the fact that the bronies were genuinely internally supportive to one another. There seemed to be very little internal drama within that group, most of the bad shit seemed to come from where they rubbed up against other fandoms or from where they just did something really really spergy and/or disgusting. They seemingly went out of their way to squash and contain internal strife in a frankly professional and adult manner.

The showrunners and cast were also careful to keep the parasocial shit to a minimum. The worst it got was John DeLancie agreeing to appear in some cringy fan animations, but that's small potatoes compared to the Twitter-addicted weirdos who make up a lot of the current animation industry.

It's almost as if that show was made by industry professionals working at an actual studio or something.
And then Equestria Girls happened jfc lol.

Ironically, the most amount of drama surrounding the series occurred after it had already concluded, with Tara Strong and Andrea Libman making pro-Israel comments when the Gaza shit first kicked off.
With Andrea, I think she just naturally fell on that side of the issue, but how retarded did these third-worldists have to be to think the Jewish Tara wouldn't obviously side with the Jewish state?

I will admit that show had genuinely talented people who all had a hand in some of the best shows of the previous era. Not just Lauren and some ghost writing from mccraken, but wootie wooton of Ed edd n eddy, rob renzeti for mlaatr on storyboards if I remember correctly. Charlotte Fullerton of spongebob on writing a few eps. It really was a who's who of shows that are a surprise when you look at the alumni....even if said alumni were on the grunt work and not the major input most of the time.

Yeah, it was so good, Hasbro got convinced entire corpus of MLP should attach to it now, with "new" gen being a pseudo-sequel, and talks of "FIM but they are kids" and "half of mane 6 with few other characters as preteens in a summer camp" seriously considered as an option for "new" gens.

They should just make a spinoff with Equestria and let main series reboot anew like it used to.

Towards the end, it's clear the writers were starting to get jealous of how popular some of the Equestria Girls characters were compared to the main series.
Starlight is basically just a knockoff Sunset with a lamer backstory and even more rushed redemption.
