I remember Conan being portrayed as more of a force of nature than a human being. I think Genndy will fail to deliver on that because he tends to always give his characters soft spots, and the Barbarian is supposed to have none whatsoever. He's a thief/conquerer, larger-than-life character, and I can't recall Genndy ever directing one of those.*

I'm sure it'll be pretty decent regardless; he'll likely fuse his Primal lead with Samurai Jack. It just won't be true to the Conan of the pulp stories.

*Even Aku (the shape-shifting master of darkness) isn't larger than life. Aku isn't like Napolean, where there's stories of him winning over whole columns of soldiers with a single speech. Instead he's cajoling, bribing, coercing, destroying, using subterfuge etc.
Ok real fuckin shot in the dark here but does any other nigga remember the 90s Conan cartoon?

I have exceedingly ancient memories of watching this around about the same time I was introduced to Warhammer Fantasy which would be when I was like 5 or 6 and from what little I remember it was not entirely terrible, although I am unsure if this is just nostalgia goggles on my part

Just rewatched Mission Hill.

Like most people I originally watched it when Adult Swim reaired the series in the mid 2000's. Who the hell watched WB in the late 90's? No one thats why it got canned despite showing some real promise.

This shit gave me heavy nostalgia for some reason. I was an adult when it aired back in the day so it's not childhood stuff. Besides, shows from my actual childhood I loved don't give me the same feeling for some reason. It must be the Cake soundtrack, the ending theme tickles my nostalgia-nerve in a way nothing else does. Not a Cake fan persay but it sounds so 90's.

Or maybe it's the bright neon colors. It's like if you extracted the late 1990's and distilled it down to its purest form. Must be the pre-9/11 vibes that I miss.

Real shame the show didn't get a few more seasons. They tried to bring it back a few years ago but that died. No point trying, you can't make anything like this anymore. Truly a flash-in-the-pan moment. But at least we still have the memories of what we got...
