We will soon be getting lesbian adventures in an all new spin-off series
Ver archivo adjunto 9189595
If they never made them the lesbian vampire and gum girl and just kept them as the German speaking princess and the vampire girl with a crush on Finn this may have been something to look forward too.

But as I said a few pages ago, we don't live in a world that's fair and gives you what you want but what the creators and their sad sick warped little brains want.

Imagine if they made a spinoff of the gender bent sunshine/grumpy or light/dark trope and didn't screw it up. They would have an immediate fanbase of loyal shippers. They love that M/F dynamic. I think they burned any good will from their previous spin offs and rewriting their own canon for anyone to care about this.
ETA: they could also make the show polar opposite friends on adventures and make a SOL waifu show for the men.

I still have no interest in watching it with this new trailer. Looks like tonal whiplash. If they save everyone, will it be a time jump or just a dream? There's a whole city of people living in that dimension. You can't explain that.
Yeah, I was expecting it to be like an island of Ogygia situation, where the Percy Jackson retelling has it as a prison with a 'one at a time' policy (bar calypso herself) and only getting to leave after bonding with calypso and having to make the emotional sacrifice of never seeing her again, with them leaving guaranteed to happen by fate. With a title like 'forgotten island' I thought the island would be a bit more, well, forgotten. The villian actually looks cool (has 'aura') at least.

But theres a whole society who seemingly have lived there for years and seem to have perfectly fine memory of anything that isnt their old life, and life there seems to be fine aside from the 1 hungry demon. So if they safe everyone that seems like kind of a cop-out, because not only would it logistically be messy but I feel like a lot wouldnt want to leave anyways? In Coraline all the previous 'tenants' were ghosts. Even if its a lotus-eater situation its probably still preferable to irl for some when they remember.

And with all these side chatacters im seeing like the wolf boy and the blue fatfuck baby it feels like they didn't trust their main characters to be able to stand on their own with just an antagonist. I mean, they were definitely right bc these protagonists dont seem all that interesting, but still.

Like why are there 3 dudes with them when confronting the villian?? Movies are only 1.5 hours, not all of them need big casts!

All of the newest promo (posters, thumbnails) suddenly has this furry posed up like hes the third and most important main character...

(Also theyre already drawing mountains of porn of him even tho hes a minor)

Your ideas sound more interesting than whatever the story is about. The villain does look cool but I'm sure millennial humor will defeat the bad guy and they ride back home on the bus singing 80's or 90's pop songs.

Remember when Bubblegum wasn't a 1000 year old demi-goddess and Finn was treated like a small adult rather than a genuine child going through yet another coming of age story? [For god's sake, they literally played cats in the cradle in the trailer for the episode about his daddy issues.]
Seriously, the show went off the rails as soon as they started giving ages to the characters, even before they made Bubbline canon. It retroactively made all of Finn's prior relationships weird, and made it harder for him to establish new character dynamics down the line. [It also negatively affected characters he used to have dynamics with, like Bubblegum and Marceline, which is part of the reason this happened to begin with.]

I'm confused why we need this when we already have a pre-midquel happening with the same show. How much more can they squeeze out of this thing?

I'm not really sure how well these two can work as protagonists when they already got together and improved as people, where's left to go? What is there to learn? Bubblegum not being called "Bonnie" in the title makes me wonder if it's another prequel before they were in a relationship.
Conan The Barbarian is getting an animated show by Cartoon Network and Amazon, by Genndy Tartakovsky.

We're finally getting Korgoth boys!!!!!

A little redundant considering how Conan inspired Samurai Jack and Primal are but if anything that proves how qualified Genndy is to adapt it.

Conan has lots of sex though, lord only knows what Genndy has in mind for the lady character designs.

Couple more toddler & me reviews. Sorry for the constant Disney. It's hard to find animated films my kid will sit through that doesn't make her lose interest. I've grabbed some animation from other studios and independent projects, but I hate to admit it... Disney has got the power. At least up until 2015ish?

Lilo & Stitch (2002): 10/10
Still good. Ya. Still good. Oh poor Nani. 19 year old girl suddenly forced to fill the role of both parents. Gorgeous gouache (?) bgs. Sanders' designs are unique and cool (did he design all the aliens?). The story is very human and is able to communicate the parallels of the threat of Stitch's capture with Lilo's getting taken away. ALL the characters are likable. The comedy is naturally occurring. Hawaii setting is great. OST is great. Aaaah this movie has really grown on me and I've only really seen it 3 times. Also, it confirms that aliens are nephilim bc Lilo prays for an angel to be her friend. (God help me never to see the dogshit live action film.)

Inside-Out (2015): 8/10
Does California make people depressed and lose sight of their morals? Find out at 11. It's alright. I've only watched this one other time. I think it tries too hard to pull at the heartstrings. And I feel like it's a bit too abstract. Maybe I missed something but the scale of inside Riley's head doesn't make sense to me. I like the names of places and how various characters function. If there was a map or an explanation of "processing emotions/events" I'd feel a bit less lost as to why it takes so long. I heard that this is considered peak Zoomer cinema. Makes me sad that young people (who are likely now adults) gravitate toward media about depression and crying. Good surrealist animation. Might be ground zero for why TADC is popular if Inside Out is as popular with Zoomers as I've heard. Rip Bing Bong.

This and Sidequests made me think they're losing the younger audience and are trying to get them back. I didn't grow up with AT but watched it when I was out of that age bracket. It was cute and I liked the surreal humor and visuals. I ended up dropping it for whatever reason around season 4-5. There was a tonal shift and Finn was becoming less and less important.
I don't think today's kids really care for AT's humor. I showed the first episode (candy zombies) to family members in the right age bracket and they said it was boring, weird, and they didn't laugh at all. They wanted to watch their favorite video game streamer instead.

Good choices. I've been enjoying your reviews. I think some reviewers are too harsh on kids movies because they're not the target audience and forget it's not made for them. Despite Dreamworks being derpy their stories are decent for kids. Pets and Pets 2 can keep kids entertained with a good message. HTTYD trilogy is amazing and a classic story.

Lilo and Stitch: You can read more about their decision making process here. The backgrounds were actually watercolor. That site is a great resource for artists or animation fans. I agree with your assessment. Disney could have had a second Renaissance if they went down this path instead of going all in with 3D.

Inside Out: It was not a great, or maybe it was, example of moving from a quiet town to a big city for a job. The setting was depressing, I thought.

I stopped watching the show around the third season. When exactly did Princess Bubblegum and Marceline become a couple?
There is a multitude of answers, but in reality, someone snuck a kiss into the final and that is what made it official. Before then it was implied at best, but not really a thing.

They are splitting up the series to appeal to both new fans (Side Quests) and old fans with the miniseries. The series aged up with the audience, so they are keeping up with their original demographic who watch it in 2010 and want more story and answers from the original series. It is a good compromise to keep the series relevant.

Counter point, did you see Primal. Even if the last season didn't quite stick the land the show was pure kino. That was Cartoon Network(although the fear of Amazon is legitimate)
countercounterpoint
I saw the popeye animatic

but yeah there are few things that could make me give a shit about new genndy or a conan cartoon than this combo
I WANT TO BELIEVE

I gave Pets a 2/10. It was like nails on a chalkboard for me. Unwatchable and annoying.

It's depressing but my ratings are influenced by the thought of, "Would I ever watch it again if I had to?" and I would.

Funny enough, I have the opposite views of those movies but my rating standard is the same as yours. On car trips I can stand Pets but not Pratt's Garfield because of the horrid sound mixing but the kids like it so it's in rotation.
