This is how cults recruit people. But Disney isn't a cult because something something just cartoons for kids. The message of so much modern American animation, including movies like "Hexed" as seen upthread is to tell people they're special and it's the "normals", the "mundanes" holding them back from going to metaphorical Hogwarts or whatever - Disney et. al. blatantly targets certain demographics, especially young girls with the goal of reinforcing every single bad delusion girls could conceivably have. It's been pretty blatant, unmasked, with the last few Disney movies, as well other movies, shows, etc. not even subtext, just plain text or blatant super-text "DO WHATEVER YOU WANT, HATE YOUR PARENTS AND TELL THEM TO PISS OFF, EVERYONE BUT YOU IS WRONG."
I remember really liking MU but no one else did.Monster’s University had easily the most brutal, yet honest lesson of any Pixar film. A film that said that you can do everything right and still fail, but that there is always something around the corner that you may have never even realized.
Is this show any good? Is it cringe? Is it try hard?
It looked they copied another scene entirely and it's also by some GroyperIs this show any good? Is it cringe? Is it try hard
Eh, this kinda reads as sour grapes to me, especially with the generic as hell "adult animated sitcom" artstyle.
It's Toy Story, people are going to suck it off no matter what any of us say. Pixar Fans are no different from Nintendo fans.Watching Toy Story 5, oh boy it sucks! I say it's the worse one out of all of them! I don't know what movie everyone else saw, it wasn't this one. I'm glad I didn't pay for this! Jessie is the weakest character and it's pretty much all about her.
They almost had a good scene there and then they had to do the Red Dead 2 thing.Damn, this makes me think that just 13 years ago, we got one of Pixar’s best scenes, if not the best, depicting the opposite lesson.

Just got out of Toy Story 5. It was good,
Ah the duality of the farms.Watching Toy Story 5, oh boy it sucks!
Fievel Goes West is unironically a better film.An American Tail (1986): 5/10
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but watching the trailers, I will say that they are way too late to the iPad kid conversation.Watching Toy Story 5, oh boy it sucks! I think so too but I thought it was a controversial opinion. The story and animation is much more fun. Fievel is frowning or crying for 90% of the first film and it makes it miserable.Fievel Goes West is unironically a better film.
I'm really curious about the upcoming sequel. Will it build off Monsters at Work or just ignore it entirely?Monsters Inc. (2001): 9/10
Hits different as a parent. Were there ever people who shipped Mike & Sully bc they basically turn into two dads during the second act. All the VAs kill it. It's hilarious to me they followed Boo's VA around with a field recorder to get her lines. Steve Buscemi rocks as Randall and despite being actually evil his design is fun to look at. The scream sucker machine is horrific. That scene where Sully demonstrates his roar and scares Boo only to see himself scaring her makes me cry. Not 10/10 because idk. I can't put my finger on why it feels off.
For the most part it's a Jessie film. If you hate Jessie you will hate this film, much like I did.I haven’t seen the movie yet, but watching the trailers, I will say that they are way too late to the iPad kid conversation.
Don't cocktease me like that, I love that film and it's rare that I find someone who doesn't. I always love a good hot take.Hot take. I don't like this film. Sorry. Don Bluth is a top class animator but this film makes me feel weird esp now as an adult. I could go into detail but I don't wanna piss off Bluth fans. I'd rather watch any other Bluth cartoon.
Do you think it's a royalties thing?About Hex, like someone pointed on Twitter, it will never not be funny to me how Disney preferred to just do their own thing than adapt the Owl house which they also own, which also involves a ethnic teenager going to magic world and is also about using magic.
I would love to see the writers and executives brainstorming what they think a punk is like. Its extremely funny that their definition of looking like an outcast is having a few purple streaks in your hair and using ribbons for shoelaces.
I really hate to be that guy, especially since there's been a ton of comparisons before, but The Owl House's protagonist being an outcast works because she did shit that freaked out most of her classmates. She wasn't trying to hurt people, but she ended up alienating herself by overindulging in her fantasies.Like damn not to sound woke but they didnt even make her chubby or anything. Usually the real outcasts either 1. have something easy to shit on like being fat or a turboautist or bad hygiene 2. be a completely unlikeable cunt or 3. just not standing out at all while also being too shy to approach others.
It also teaches a lesson about how your dream can lead to an entirely different calling. Mike may not be a good scarer, but he knows a lot about the art and how to help others be scary, making him the perfect scaring coach. In addition, the kids finding him adorable means he's great at making them laugh. He managed to find two lucrative careers related to his original dream.Monster’s University had easily the most brutal, yet honest lesson of any Pixar film. Wanna feel even worse? Consider the idea that they had to scare the kid voicing her just toThat scene where Sully demonstrates his roar and scares Boo only to see himself scaring her makes me cry.
Isn't that the last film Jimmy Stewart was in?Fievel Goes West is unironically a better film.
It's also weird because, going by the timeline of the movies, this should take place in the mid-2010s at most, yet tablets are as prevelant as they are in the mid-2020s.I haven’t seen the movie yet, but watching the trailers, I will say that they are way too late to the iPad kid conversation.
Yes.Isn't that the last film Jimmy Stewart was in?
