So apparently the animators for Fixed have been dealing with moralfags on Twitter and Instagram making threats against them. As if the animators are in charge of what’s in the script.

Edit: Supposedly a good amount of the moral grandstanding was born from this tweet, and the author of course has their own weird tastes.

I was disappointed when Fixed was announced. I wasn't offended and I didn't think it was zoo bait because I'm not terminally online.

I give Seth a pass for wanting more hopeful media because he’s always been a fan of it, like with Star Trek.

Family Guy is fine for what it is—a show you consume like fast food and forget. But considering he created The Orville, when he’s in serious mode, he clearly prefers hope and intelligence over crude humor.

People had such a low opinion for fixed because of two factors. One the likes of similar R rated "adult " animation that started with the likes of sausage party and only got soured by the likes of Santa in and big mouth. And its own trailer, the former set the bar so low for adult animation because while it was a critical and financial success, most audiences hated it or at the very least were not amused by it's chicanery.

Fixed's trailer did the film dirty making it look like the sex and balls jokes was ALL Fixed was gonna be for 90 mins. But having seem tidbits of it (hopefully the full thing soon) Fixed looks like it's got more to it than what the marketing led you to think.

Let me put it this way. Sausage party was crass raunch that tried to shoehorn in depth and emotion without earing it because it was nothing but crass raunch. Fixed conversely has earned the more heartfelt and emotional moments it's got because Genndy at least knows how to balance funny with serious.

Watched Fixed. It's gross, very gross*, but there's a story here, a surprisingly bittersweet one. It felt like something that could have co-existed in the 90s, or even next to Fritz the Cat.

*Not sure if to count it as woke or shock value, but there's a herm dog, and one male character is pretty much raped for laughs, sort of.

I miss the old days where everyone went apoplectic over Jashi sinking their Jack x Johnny Bravo ships.
Since Samurai Jack S5 is brought up, just want to share that I think Aku's replacement voice was disappointing. Greg Baldwin is too high-pitched. Mako's Japanese accent was what sold his delivery. I hate to say it may be the one time a racially specific voice actor was necessary.

I get that but what are you going to do in the situation Gennedy was in?
