I lowkey think the sponsors like this type of ad read. It makes it more likely people will watch them.
Big youtubers always have it easier because they just have to weaponize the fact their audiences have had the same product shilled to them several times but this time they may actually watch the ad-read. I've a list of YouTubers/streamers I don't watch solely on how much shit they push or it never arrives.

You pretty much have to try to not get paid. I recall this time with Quinton Reviews doing an ad for Raid: Shadow Legends that was him walking, getting mugged and explaining the game that he thought was hilarious but we wasn't paid so he has dedicated the last 5 years of his life to speedruns of the game. I'm still working on the Mandela Catalogue post. It is more boring than you think.

Is sponsorblock really this uncommon, or do you people watch youtube on some platform without sponsorblock support?
I've honestly not seen a sponsor since like the 'rona when I discovered it.

Hiding the problem with a third party auto-skip does not get rid of the problem at it's core, sadly.
Even the hosts are ripping on the cliched Reddit titles, lol.
I had to take a break from listening to internet spooky stories for a bit a few years ago a little before corona world because every single one had the fucking "my blood ran cold" line. That shit's still popping up in fucking everything especially the fucking reddit stories. it's always when they see some spooky creature or realize some obvious twist.

youd be surprised how many people have no problems watching ads. though if the youtube stats thing on a video bar is right, they do their best to skip them when possible

For me it was the Search and Rescue series that threw me off internet spooky stories. That plus they used to not put that the stories were from Reddit.

Yeah alot of people on youtube are kids who don't really know about all that.
