Every Reddit story always has the same bad title. It's honestly grating at this point. There very well could be one called "My Wife's Boyfriend Isn't Acting the Same..." and it wouldn't be out of place.

The timestamps look promising this week

I think they should start reading some old public domain stories along with the creepypastas, it's pretty obvious that they've gotten to most of the good ones already.

Even the hosts are ripping on the cliched Reddit titles, lol.
This story is VERY reddit-coded. Part of me wants to blame /r/nosleep's retarded LARP rules, but I don't know if that's solely to blame.

I cannot believe the sponsor cleared that bidet ad read.

Also story is almost too bad and reddit to riff on effectively, so far they’re mostly just angry at it and I’m kind of there with them.
They (Meat especially) seem to get lucky with their sponsors, no matter how awful or insane the actual ad is, surprisngly.

I don't mind a shitty story, but this one is SO reddit that it isn't funny. It's so cliche you could play a "shitty reddit story" bingo with this one and I don't even have half the vitriol for reddit that most people have for it around here!

It sounds like an obviously fake story your autistic 12-year-old cousin made up to sound "badass." A 20 minute walk is too far after seeing a monster?? Come on. Plus, all of the gay little "oh, that thing? we'll talk about that later" (call-fowards?) are so grating.

The slight self awareness that pokes through just makes it worse, you know this is especially badly written and just ripping off what’s popular but if you say so it doesn’t count!

I’m just waiting for their subreddit to write the “My Apartment is Stupid and Like a Ghost is Weird” starring a big lipped redneck and a fat perverted ghost haunting him.

I'm pretty sure the story Meat was trying to remember is Does Anyone Know a Good Plumber? I Did One of Those Stupid Rituals. That one was really fun, a guy matches with a ghost or whatever on Tinder and she says if he wants to meet up he'll have to do a ritual. The guy proceeds to do every step wrong and summons a faceless dude instead and also fucks up his shower in the process then drugs his cat and stuffs it in a briefcase before his landlord shows up while a bunch of cultists in klan hoods run around in the streets below his apartment

I'm enjoying the current story so far. It's not super amazingly good-bad in and of itself but it feels like it was specifically written to fuck with CreepCast despite coming out six years before the podcast started, I'm 100% bought in on someone using a time machine to post it in the past. Just waiting for the protagonist to be Jeff the Killer or Ticci Tobi and it'll be perfect

Eh, you're expecting their subreddit to be able to even type out either of their names without falling to the ground and masturbating over how awesome they are. Good fucking luck with that.

Sponsors really don't give a shit. Just look at what Internet Historian does for his.

This story dragged but when they finally broke and just started playing with it, it got better. Who'dve thunk.
The cope about proof reading stories was dumb though. You've got a team of people who presumably know your tastes and interests very well. You could easily have these shitheads read stories ahead of time and vet them just to make sure you aren't getting any that are actually bad. I'm sure that'd be a better reason to pay these hangers on than the "research" and editing they do.

I lowkey think the sponsors like this type of ad read. It makes it more likely people will watch them.

You are ignoring the truly scary thought.....

These ARE the vetted stories. There are/were shittier stories that they excluded. 💀

It depends on the sponsor. Even guys like Reggie that do absurd sponsor reads occasionally do a toned down one and I think it at the request of the sponsor. Like VPN companies give no fucks as long as the skit revolves around using the VPN. A lot of video game sponsors tend to want it more straightforward because they got a lot of gameplay footage to show and marketing points to cover so you can't get too wild with it.
