when something is 20 years old and the guy who built it has been gone for years, and no one does anything about it, people start treating it like some kind of magic artifact that you should never touch.Sounds like someone didn't adhere to The Process. The Process be Praised!
think of it as job securityIm not working in IT cause im studying it, but the amount of people in my class that dont read and constantly ask what and how is concerning me
Of course nowadays something like that is extremely realistic even for something that basic because of either:Sounds like someone didn't adhere to The Process. The Process be Praised!
Reading is important.Im not working in IT cause im studying it, but the amount of people in my class that dont read and constantly ask what and how is concerning me
This phenomenon needs to be studied. I've had a coworker do the same to us and whenever he went on vacation our meetings would become really short and to the point. The BAU was that he would ask tons of unnecessary and pointless questions and whenever he had to present something he'd go into unnecessary detail to the point of absurd.Stand-ups have taken 10 minutes instead of 45 and we've got more done in the last five days than the last two weeks. I'm not looking forward to monday.
He's not even indian.
The long standup meeting (anything past 10 minutes is too long IMO), saps all my energy right at the point in the day when I am most productive (the morning). This phenomenon needs to be studied. The learned helplessness is an epidemic, especially among older people. Too may people won't even bother to learn..I know they are smart enough to learn. I damn well know they've stressed enough to benefit from learning, but being 60 years old means you're too old and will give up before you even try.i've realized most people at companies are as good with computers as dsp is with games

God, I wish I was joking.
I can’t tell you how tempted I was to give that answer."The power button"
Just go "anything but the power button" and you have plausible deniability if all she hears is power button.I can’t tell you how tempted I was to give that answer.
Any Key stickers to put on your keyboard's space bar have been a thing for decades.I had a user call the service desk I worked on to ask which key she should press when the computer said "Press any key to continue"
