Because she wasn't putting out. If you haven't seen her e-mail to Vic already, she's comes off as an alpha-bitch type, has control issues. It's likely she uses sex to get what she wanted, and if Vic wasn't getting any of it, not surprised he paid a hooker.
There's not much big-think needed behind it. If you're married to that, and she refuses to have sex with you, what do you think anyone with a healthy sex-drive and flexible morals do? It happens in relationships all the time. When you're not getting what you want/need, you look for it elsewhere.
