If TUG or someone who has a line to him is reading this, please have Deneice back up off her mic. It's popping like crazy - barely listenable. (Tell her to spell her name correctly, too.)
I think that one is from the Convention Hall or the Law Enforcement providing security. They don’t want any cosplayers that might be mistaken as Cops or SWAT. It’s a response following “The Punisher” incident awhile back. I saw similar rules at the local Malls for Halloween.
Ok guys, this is an expo sponsored by Funimation, starts up April 26. They apparently added a new rule very recently. I'll let you take a stab at what it was. Possibly unrelated, but I think it's funny
Probably as any other person. If they did treat him like who he was, I think the reply would've been more passive aggressive. Alternatively, they could be playing friendly with Nick hoping they don't get fucked.
I wouldn't be shocked if Funi was basically press ganged into cutting Vic by the screeching danger hairs on their staff and now that the wind is blowing the other way they're praying to God that the legal whirlwind coming lets them cut some of these nut jobs loose. I imagine Funi will settle with Vic very quickly and let the rest of them deal with it on their own terms, they could also have just read the cultural climate wrong and have realised that bending the knee was dumb and are now willing to fix it as best they can.
I like believing that they put in this rule because they expect to be raided and all thrown in prison by SWAT teams and are afraid they'll accidentally get shot if they think it's just a cosplay event.
He spearheaded a campaign that gave Vic over 100k in lawyer fuel and is a competent lawyer in his own right. I would be surprised if someone over there isn't keeping an eye on him
Yeah Funi’s Lawyers are paying attention Nick and probably and talking to Vic’s. Yep, see we are all friends here. This whole thing is just a big misunderstanding. We were brought incorrect information which we acted on. We are reviewing everything and wish to be as cooperative in this matter as possible. (Now those shitstains that got us into this mess? Have at them! We’ll happily give you everything we have) nothing to see here. We’re all friends....
If I was Marzgurl, Rial or Marchi I’d be shitting a brick right about now.
Think this was Nick passive aggressively pointing out that it was more than just a little oopsy on iTunes. Vic was removed not just on iTunes, but Google Play, as well as in FMA credits AND from RGBT's credits.
It probably is a recent change. But it’s likely not the cons idea. It’s likely a Law Enforcements recommendation orrequirement. Most likely based on evolving and improving Law Enforcement event security policies at the national training levels. As soon as the Punisher happened all realistic weapons were banned. But since then the cops have been paying more attention to threat vectors at the nerdfests and developing policies around their observations. These get developed into national recommendations that trickle out to the departments via bulletins, training and their own gatherings. That the costumed attendees not be indistinguishable from any actual uniformed incident response teams is a pretty obvious and reasonable rule once you think about it.
