Agreed. That said my pessimism tells me that only Monica and Ron get dragged back at the very most due to being extra exceptional. Jamie chose a mostly competent lawyer and shut up for the most part and FUNimation's weasel words might free them because reasons.
Yea, it sucks that cunt can get away with it. Tho I do remember nick stating that her lawyer's appeal response could bring her back but idk.

Vic is scum, huh? These people are either stupid, suffering from amnesia, or being purposely obtuse, and I am leaning hard on that obtuse option.

Came across this. Who else remembers Neil "VIC MOUNTED ME REEEEEE" Kaplan. Looks like he's not getting Hawkmon in the Digimon remake. I'll admit I did like his performance, but I chuckled a bit at the karma.

A white man playing a Digimon who looks like a Native American stereotype in [current year] is a bad look. That's probably why. :story: (Also his bullshit probably ruffled someone's feathers, a scheduling conflict because of Corona-chan or otherwise seems too convenient.)

Honestly, of all the people explicitly in the lawsuit, Marchi is the the most scumfuck unless you count Chris Sabat as part of the wider Funimation group.

But she's also behaved the most intelligently of any of the defendants, which is why she's likely to get off totally scot-free.

Once the appeals process actually is complete and the rumors of the appeal case being strong are actually true, then here's my predictions for now.

Monica and Ron are fucked, end of story. They have the most slam dunk evidence against them and are too much of a liability for Funimation at this point as well.

Funimation is one of those 50/50 cases where it could honestly go either way, but if the appeals do go well for Vic, I could see Funimation attempting to negotiate some sort of settlement with Vic in exchange for dropping the case against them specifically.

Unless the settlement includes a public apology and retraction statement about the allegations, I don't see Vic taking that kind of hypothetical offer.

Marchi's likely going to get away unless we get some shocking swerve that would make Vince Russo do a double-take. But if Funimation goes under because of court costs or because of the COVID-19 pandemic, then her career is even deader than Vic's. Pyrrhic Victory at its finest.

She's got nowhere else to go at this point, and I don't see Viz or Sentai hiring Monica and Jaimie ever again after all this drama, even if the appellate court does hold up Chupp's decision in its entirety. At best, they'll just let them finish their original contracts and just not call back for the next dub contract.

Chris Sabat is probably the "mastermind" in all this, for lack of a better term. But he's only going to get named if the appeals go extremely well for Vic and Funimation is dragged into a second round of discovery. Somehow, I doubt that he'll get named in a second round of discovery at all.

But if he does get dragged into something like that, he's fucked.

If the casting couch rumors are even a tenth as bad as the rumors say, he'll really get hit by the cancel culture crowd. They'll still have cognitive dissonance and double-standards about it, and will openly compare him to Vic in the worst possible ways. Poetic justice if you will.

Vic is still a draw at cons and is getting audiobook gigs at the very least, and I honestly think if he does well enough in court, Viz and Sentai will ease up any unspoken blacklists they have against him since it's obvious that Funimation more or less tried to ruin him because of petty workplace politics at the very least.

I hope so. The only thing is that I can’t think of any real any real anime studios that have the fortitude to stand of to the cancel mob, especially since nowadays, they feel emboldened to bring up things like defunding police.

He isn't the only one not reprising their role. Brian Donovan who voiced Davis originally was cast but apparently had issues with his home studio that prevented him from actually doing the role.

It seems like Digimon Adventure Kizuna is having all kinds of production problems. They were trying to dub it as fast as possible so some actors had to be changed. But then corona hit and cancelled the theatre screenings anyway along with delaying the video release. I've been keeping up with it as much as I can and was hoping to just dump a big mega autism post whenever it eventually drops.

It sure is too bad there isn't some prominent voice actor out of work with a home studio setup and tons of experience. Oh well.

Nooooooooo that's just as sad as Michael Lindsay and Robert Axelrod passing away last year. Goddamn it, his and Derek's chemistry as Davis, Ken and Veemon are just amazing. Fuck.

Bless you. After Digimon Tri, I just got tired of Digimon and needed a break. (Although I need to rewatch 02 and Frontier now that I got the DVDs, and now even more-so than ever thanks to these news.)

At this point, sounds like only Ken and Cody will maintain their original dub voices. That's sad. The 02 cast deserves better.

There's a petition to get Vic to Anime Matsuri. Was tagged in it by Squally over on Twitter.
Check it out if you guys haven't.

I don't understand why Matsuri is hesitant to invite Vic this year.

Worried about their reputation? Pointless, because their reputation isn't good among the SJW part of the weebs anyway. And they don't matter.

Worried that Vic might not be a big draw? Also pointless, because Vic is always a big draw.

So Vic announced on Unlocked that he signed a contract for a new audiobook, that he filmed a pilot for a possible television show and there's still big news he wants to announce at a con.

What are Monica and Jamie doing again?
About as "much" as before, but now with the spotlight on, we wonder why they were relevant in the first place

It's funny, even after following this for 16 months I can say Vic voiced Ed Elric in FMA/FMA:B, Rohan in Jojo and Qrow in RWBY (which I've never even seen), yet the only roles I know Marchi and Rial had were Panty and Stocking, and even then I don't know who voiced which character. There was also the green-haired girl in Assassination Classroom, who was voiced by either Marchi or Rial, but I have no idea which. I can't even remember which of the two was 8th Bulma.

Well I don't listen do dubs, ( sub snob, since i am not American) the only reason why I know Monica voiced Bulma is because a friend complained when monica got the job, that she sounded horrible, and made me listen to it. ( Re-afferming I was better off watching subbed shows)
