Ok, so I write this with the knowledge that Vic might lose at the TCPA. I don't think he will, but I'm not writing it off as impossible. That said......

If and when he wins on the TCPA, how are the twitter lawyers going to justify what they said? Every other post from them is that Vic will 100% lose at the TCPA stage. They've put all their cards on the table as far as their credabuility goes.
I know kickvic are delusional, but surely, even if you think Vic is guilty, you still have to acknowledge that the Twitter lawyers were catagorically wrong on the one thing that really matters, and that falls under their area of expertise.

I swear to god, if the kickvic crowd don't totally disavow these lawyers after being proven so wrong.....

It would be really bad if FUNimation went out of their way to say "HanLeia was the SOLE reason we investigated Vic".
Just, it would be IMMEASUREABLY BAD if they went out of their way to specifically try and blame her for the entire investigation... just for people to find out that HanLeia fucked up immensely by not even bother to do a single google search.

The issue is that neither Funimation nor Hanleia ever checked to see if that claim was true or not and just believed a random site, this also show's that Funimation, their HR group AND Sony decided to start a random investigation on Vic without checking to make sure the story being claimed indeed was about Vic.

See, that's the funny thing about this. Funimation apparently did check the claim and realize it was either a gross mistake or pure bullshit, and have simply declined to admit that. They say they started their investigation because of Hanleia's tweet. Then they stop talking about the tweet and it's claims, be vague about how they got from wanting to investigate the tweet to Monica coming forward with the twins, and by the time they're calling in Sony's investigator, the tweet is long since forgotten.

The only reason for it to play out like that is if they did investigate Hanleia's tweet, quickly realized it was nonsense, but pressed onward with an investigation of Vic anyways. They likely can't admit they realized the tweet was nonsense early on, as that would make it clear that they're likely using Hanleia's tweet as a cover, and the real cause of the investigation was Monica's complaints.

None of those are good looks for Funimation. Some of those even frame it like Funimation are attempting to bury their heads in the sand to shuck blame onto Sony, which I'm sure Sony is going to love.

Boy, I hope whatever woke points they scored were worth that 2 months of e-pats. They're about to leave a crater that will be viewable from space at this rate.
