If you hate webp you are a fucking retard!
You hate on a new and improved innovation because shitty mega-corporations like Microsoft can't be bothered to support it even after over 10 years.
It's fucking lossless, so no weird artefacts like with jpg, has alpha like png but isn't a trillion mb big and can even be animated with more than 265 colors unlike gif!
 
Ignorance really is bliss I don't know what any of this means and I truly believe I'm a happier person due to it :')
 
searched for instances of webp files on my device and this is the first one that showed up and I have no idea what the fuck this is

you people have no idea how annoying it is loading a page full of 2mb 3 second 300x300 gifs with the weird dithering. i need to look into animated png too and see how it compares to animated webp images cause it looks really interesting. i've only seen it twice in the wild.

JFIF is just another JPEG spec. the file extension can be either jfif or jpg/jpeg.

i love it when i try to search for something transparent on google and instantly get gray and white squares on my image, or when i search for actual good images, find one, and try to use it only to discover its a fucking webp and that only sites people's grandmother still frequent will accept them
