We should replace the Washington Monument with a Saturn V

I hate that stupid obelisk. Every other monument there is a statue of the dude, the Washington Monument is a retarded piece of rock and isn't even in the style of a decent civilization. Its only purpose was to be the tallest structure on Earth (in the same sense something like a radio mast is) back when the second-tallest structure was a one floor one room wattle and daub shack. It's a piece of shit. I'd rather have it torn down and put either a Minuteman ICBM or a Saturn V rocket on its spot, you know, something the country can actually be proud of.

Why not put a rocket next to the obelisk? It'd probably be easier than demolishing the existing monument, and then you get a nice contrast between the ancient world and a sweet-ass space rocket.

When they're adding the rocket, someone needs to make sure it's still possible to take a photo pretending the Washington Monument is your dick without getting the Saturn V in the frame, and vice versa.

I rather like simple monuments like that if they're in the right spot. It would be terrible if every monument was like that of course - I enjoy a healthy mix of styles in public art as long as it's not some meant-to-be-ugly piece of conceptual art trash.

However, I also think space rockets are the coolest fucking thing ever and would love for them to feature more prominently in public spaces. Like a Rocketdyne F1 just plopped down in a park or whatever would be sick. Any military hardware too - howitzers and tanks make great ornaments.
