Everyone pirates. We need to appreciate the brave people who spend time to crack games, upload torrents, etc. We all expect that that something we want to watch/play will be available online. These people get get no glory, no fame, yet they do it anyway. They make the internet a free space. So my hats off to you. Maybe give thanks to to the best pirate capatains who have sailed the seas without revealing their identites and give credit where it is due.

There's a whole thread on this forum cataloguing the cracking scene and the drama involving its' most famous integral players. They do get 'glory' in the form of one of their main motivations being to one-up one another, though obviously within their own insular community that 99% of the people who download their shit don't even realize exist.

The software crackers who do it usually do it as a competition for fame and there are always some extraordinary egos and personalities involved.
