🐱 We Have to Protect Juneteenth From Cultural Appropriation Pimps

CatParty

Nothing is sacred for Black people in America. Not our music, our bodies, food or hairstyles. And now here come people trying to whitewash our holiday, Juneteenth.

Twitter wasted no time circulating a flier for the Juneteenth Soul Food Festival and Market with the pictures of featured hosts, Rex Nelson, Heather Baker and David Bazzel boldly printed on it. And by the way, Rex, Heather and David are all white and it’s a good chance none of their ancestors were freed from enslavement on June 19,1866.

Listed as one of the recipients of the proceeds from the event, The Urban League of Arkansas quickly distanced themselves from the controversy.

In a statement on their Facebook page, the organization’s CEO said, “Please read – the Urban League of the State of Arkansas is and was not involved in any aspect of this program. We are concerned of the appearance of participation without our approval. It’s unfortunate that some failed to recognize the optics and the absolute need to engage prior to this being developed.”

And to make matters worse, the event was organized by a Black man, former football player for the Razorbacks and Arkansas treasure, Muskie Harris. Why would he think that was a good idea? That move probably just got his Black Card revoked.

Protect Juneteenth at all costs

Immediately, many were wondering why Black people weren’t the faces of this event.

In an interview, one of the hosts, Rex Nelson, said, “We’re also fortunate in Arkansas to have respected black leaders as mayors of some of our largest cities such as Little Rock, Fort Smith and Pine Bluff. And let’s not forget about the historians who have worked hard the past couple of decades to make Arkansans aware of this state’s sad history of violence against blacks.”

In this fortune of having an abundance of respected Black leaders in Little Rock, why didn’t Mr. Harris or Mr. Nelson invite any of them to host?

Black fam, we’re not even a year into Juneteenth being officially recognized as a national holiday and already have to reclaim our time. And even though the flier was leaked and the event has been canceled after public outrage, this matter absolutely has to be called to forum by the Black Delegation because. We can be sure that there will be future offenses from habitual, cultural line steppers and appropriation pimps–as we’ve unfortunately seen with Cinco de Mayo.

As someone who holds resentment in having our ancestors brutalized and our history erased with half-assed acknowledgement from our country that these things even happened, I’m extremely protective over this holiday and its symbolism of freedom and justice for Black people.

And I hope the next time someone tries to host an event around our emancipation represented by White people, it’s met with a full force of opposition and resistance from brothers, sisters and co-conspirators who want to protect Juneteenth and our history like I do.

Our? Nigga, Juneteenth is a Texas holiday mostly centered around the Galveston-Gulf Coast area and wasn't really celebrated by anyone until the great Chimp Out of 2020. The only ones appropriating it are the greasy negroes who aren't even from Texas.
I can’t even overstate this no matter how long I live. I remember learning about Juneteenth in Texas History Class and when Beijing Biden and the rest of the groomers started making a fuss about it being a holiday, somewhere in my smooth low IQ brain there were some synapses firing and reminding me “wait, isn’t this just a holiday for Black Texans”?

I hear that there’s a sign on the bridge into Newark that says “Newark Makes, The World Takes”…replace “Newark” with “Texas”. That’s on top of all these faggy metropolitan urban bug-hive söyische fags who’ve been saying “y’all” for the last 10 years and driving it into the fucking ground. I’m just glad they’re not natives so they aren’t aware of or stealing other true Texas Retard slang/phrases like “six or half a dozen” or “no thank you ma’am, I don’t have sex with women, I’m a Texan”

I mean, didn't you literally want Juneteenth to become a mainstream thing that everyone celebrated?
Your holidays held in proven important dates celebrate genocide, whiteness and privilege.

My corporate invention of a holiday is valid and must be protected at all costs.

No, you see, you have to treat Black Culture as if it's something sacrosanct and not literally just a culture like any other. Oh, by the way, if you don't care about it, you're racist, and if you want to take part in it you're also racist for appropriating it!

Wow, I wonder why there are people out there who had enough of this shit and just want to live in peace. Must be some internalized White Supremacy or some other vile ideal, we couldn't possibly set impossible standards for people to meet just because we need something to complain about, for sure!

See, if they kept this retarded shit exclusively on their own turf it would be fine, live an unhappy life like an asshole. But no, they export this shit everywhere and then feel outraged when some guys that never even set foot in the U.S. don't know what Juneteenth is. Fuck me sideways...
Cool, that means I can just ignore your dumbass shit.
Precisely, it's the best course. It suffices, not being racist. You don't need to meet some standards that some retarded grifter activists want you to meet, it's never worth the headache as you simply can't please these people, they want to be famous, to sell books and get spots on the media, not to actually make a difference. I'm glad with this, I know I am not racist, I know no cultures are immune to criticism, I know everyone deserves to be treated equally. And that's it, it's enough!

Funny thing, this is. When I grew up, there weren't nearly as much of these schizo politics in prominence. I was taught from childhood not to be an asshole, and it worked. It suffices!

I’d offer to make them “whites need not apply” signs, but I’m Jewish and that’s too adjacent to white for their taste

What culture? African-Americans don’t have one. For example, they know damn well they stole “soul food” from white southerners.

Since we're making up holidays, I, once again, propose an old actress birthday to be a national holiday.
Betty White? I’m okay with that.

We can be sure that there will be future offenses from habitual, cultural line steppers and appropriation pimps–as we’ve unfortunately seen with Cinco de Mayo.
Mexicans don't give a flying fuck about your cultural appropriation. They're an ethnic group whose skin color runs the whole gamut. And generally Mexicans by and large are friendly people who hardly scoff at Americans butchering their dialect of Spanish.

Fun fact: Speedy Gonzales was shelved for a few years because White Liberals at Warner Bros felt he was a racist stereotype. It took Latin Americans to complain online and rally behind Speedy via campaigns to bring him back.

Pepe Le Pew is still MIA, fuck you #MeToo movement.

This is just bad writing, right? You're saying that Blacks think nothing is sacred.

Which would be correct:

Última edición:
Cultural appropriation is such a bizarre concept that it could only have been created to fail - that is, it exists so that it is physically impossible for there not to be some kind of 'racism' to complain about. If your culture is ignored and shunned, then you're being segregated and it's racist oppression. If your culture spreads and other people adopt it, then it's cultural appropriation and racist, because only your culture is allowed to partake in it. It's a catch-22 that makes no sense whatsoever if you even attempt to examine it and in almost always exists only on the internet or from the mouths of people not in that culture.

How does one "steal" soul food? Especially when it started from scraps?
I wrote that as a joke, but that’s basically the point.

For example, if you’re white and invite your family members over for a meal consisting of collard greens, black-eyed peas, and cornbread, just try posting those pictures to social media without being called out by some nigger yelling at you about “cultural appropriation”.

The same damn thing applies to music and hairstyles. It evolves constantly based on trends. And that’s how it should be. But you don’t get to whine and cry about how black people invented the blues just because some other ethnicity happened to make a better version of a song. That’s some bullshit.

One of these days, progressives will learn that you can't copyright culture, let alone find a way to levy and collect fines for violations.

Even if you somehow manage to find a by-the-book legal way to do it, the resulting law will be unenforceable.

It is human nature to imitate things both as a form of parody and flattery, every kid at some point tries to copy their parents.

All the wasted time and energy of the last 15+ years to find a way to make "appropriation" a thing is doomed to fail.

If someone likes something they see, they'll partake of it. There's no way to prevent it or stamp it down with anything short of a totalitarian police state which history shows will fall apart in an orgy of omnidirectional violence and oppression no matter it's original goals.
