He is the quintessential rich kid who nobody ever actually liked and only hung around with for access/free shit. This is also why he never formed his own tastes or personality, he never had to. Remember when he was the horror movie guy? The football guy? Everything he does is a facade anyone with half a mind can see through instantly.

I mean he has a job, but I don't think he's really been failing upwards. He's been in the same "senior editor/writer" position for like 10 years and never for a publication that actually matters. Being a "Senior Editor" means really little when you only have, at most, 1 or 2 people underneath you.

I can't imagine that Netflix is fucking around with an EIC position but even if they were, Patrick isn't even the most qualified person in his three person office at Waypoint Vice Gaming. The only one they would likely talk to would be Austin Walker (ex- EIC of Waypoint) but outside of the fact that "I'm a black dude" I can't imagine he has very good KPI indicators on his resume, considering what a colossal wet fart waypoint.com became.
 
Hmmm, I wonder if someone who "protests" by not streaming video games for a day counts as rich or "proletariat"?
Although I wouldn't eat a "Fillet de Klepek" if it was the last food on Earth.

Patrick’s family is loaded, quelle surprise. Not sure about his wife but wouldn’t shock me if she comes from money either.
