So after reading some of those OKC questions in discussion, I found one that actually tickled my noodle a bit.
"Would you rather date someone way smarter or way dumber than you?"
This is a tough one for me. I don't want to date a rock but I'm actually leaning towards dumber because dating a smarter person (keep in mind it's way smarter) would probably be a blow to my self-esteem. Without realizing it, I fear my partner would be condescending. Also I think formal education and employment plays a big role in this, I'd gladly date a lawyer before an unemployed high school drop out. So let's assume that this potential partner has the same formal education/pay.
I asked this question at work and everyone unanimously chirped "smarter." Someone brought up that they think men would be more likely to say dumber and women to say smarter, despite all the men saying smarter.
Yes I know I'm making a thread because of an OKC question, but I'm curious to see how others feel.

Are we gonna be solving crimes together? If not, then it's not as important as the type of person they are. I'll take a slightly ditzy person who can be trusted over a super smart person who can't.

also they gotta be down with hair-pulling and occasional biting, cause... yeah.

Smarter, because I strongly value wisdom and intelligence in a woman. I dated a girl who was kinda dumb, and let's just say things didn't necessarily work out.

I voted dumber. Girls I've known who are way smarter than me have generally seemed unable to relax/chill out.

I reserve the right to change my vote if I ever meet Kesha.

Depends on whether or not she is condescending and smug or willing to share what she knows with me and encouraging. If she's like some of the women I've had as professors over the years, then yes.

And of course there are a thousand other things that should be considered when considering a partner, but that's moot for this discussion.
