Was the 2000's really worth the nostalgia?

I can express my nekoself to general public in MMORPGs without being ridiculed by normalfags :(

My memories may be mushing together but I distinctly recall losing my V-card while listening to Ocean Avenue and playing Metal Gear Solid 3 and eating green ketchup.

It was a good time, my dudes.

Despite the problems the '00s had, at least there wasn't "the way of Tumblr" and "cancel culture" going mainstream.

Also smartphone and social media "cultures" weren't really a thing yet.

I had a PDA with a modem in it that had a USB connection and a driver to use it with windows and mac computers as a teather, I saved up for ages to get it as a teen and having a pocket device with the internet was a unique thing, it was nice but having the internet available all the time was the start of the problem and I got to see it first hand.

I miss not having a phone and email hybrid device on my person, I'd rather have a phone I can shutdown and ignore and a camera and MP3 player than the all in one device of a smart phone it meant I had to work to get access to the internet and it wasnt the default state of business or government - I sometimes want to call about my bank account and ask why XYZ is a issue, No I want to be able to say to the local government I am cutting my grass on the kerbside because they havent done it in 3 years without applying for a licence.

I grew up during the 2000's. The fashion trends were weird but they hold a special place in my heart. Every other girl I knew wore body glitter and low-cut jeans. I remember as a kid collecting silly bands and reselling them to other kids at school. Good times.

Being young during the unfiltered times of the internet was a doozy, too. Taught me a lot about how the world really worked. No filters or censors, just raw content. Now you have to archive everything lest it gets deleted or erased for deviating from the norm.

2000's was one of the best eras for gaming, unironically. Short of the 90's; no era comes close. I know that's not exactly fair considering gaming has been around for only 50 years in a commercial sense, and it only started getting a defined era in the mid 1980's, but still; your taste is shit if you say 2000's was bad.
