Problem isn't that Germany fought, problem is that the rest of the world fought against them rather than with them. It doesn't matter how good your army is, you can't hold off against all of Western Europe, Russia and then US at the same time. This is a military issue, there isn't much you can say about the man or his policy that's wrong.
