the lightning bolt logo would've been too le heckin "problematic" for the faggots, women, and retards they've been trying to cater to because nazis used a double lightning bolt

the horror, oh the horror

So more proof GW doesn't know or care about their own lore. Their justification for saying the Steel Legion wasn't in the Yarrick trailer was because huge majority of them had been wiped out. They represent a fraction of the fighting force yada yada.

But now in the new lore book they say the Steel Legion is at 55% strength.Ver archivo adjunto 9210562

It's less that they don't know their own lore I guess and more that the Writers are still dog shit with numbers. Because assuming the Steel Legion had a fighting population of say a million men fighting on their home planet, which that still feels low mind you, they'd be fighting with a force of 450,000 men. That's still a shit ton of men.

France in WW1 had 2 million men on the Western front consistently throughout the war, so the Steel Legion, fighting on their home planet would have way more than just a million which is my lowbrow estimate. They'd probably have most of the planets population fighting, so why weren't they in the trailer James? It's almost as if you forgot about them and wanted to push more Cadians and Krieg.
You should never treat Warhammer Community articles as canon, especially when it's a hastily written one in response to complaints.

There was a lot of people mad about it (and continue to be to this day) but otherwise yes.
I think the anger is exaggerated nowadays. I wasn't really online at the time so hard to say the wider feeling but at my local GW nobody minded too much.

From my observations, the people who seem most upset about the Tau are the type who only know the hobby through meme-lore (Krieg shovels LMAO) whining about "space commies" than people I actually meet with and play against.

More people in my local scene were upset about the Necron change than the Tau release, remember that?

40k numbers are so funnily retarded that they should really just add a couple billion to each human statistic without any issue or just never mention it at all, iirc wasnt the entire krieg response on Vraks just barely over the number of contemporary US enlisted?

Yeah 40k authors are terrible at numbers, it's very silly

War of the orks by Cavan Scott

Wow. what an opening. and here I was thinking they would try to downplay how screwed the trade station was. Most of it's inhabitants are dead, the station is almost out of power and nobody's coming to help these poor bastards. The medic describing the situation to the newly arrived inquisitor is lucky he's liberal enough to not immediately shoot her for admitting to working with aliens. Especially after she begs him for any kind of help. He tells her to kiss off. (ages 9-12 recommended!)

The adventure gang has a working idea of what POC mom was talking about. Long ago on some planet, the ultramarines carved a massive statue of the emperor into a mountainside using gunships shooting at it. That legend corresponds with one of the two worlds they were given as options for the emperor's seat.

So onward to adventure!.... oh shit the orks are shooting at us and we've lost main engines! JUMP OFF THE SHIP KIDS (Yeah they picked the wrong planet)

Dont worry the anti gravity parasuites will stopp the fall! ( that's new)

I don't have as much to say about the orks. It's a pretty correct depiction of two tribes locked in a perpetual civil war and that's the only real reason the kids don't get immediately get brained. The team gets separated as entertainment between the two tribes and eventually links back up as the Warbosses have a final fight. a fight Amity and the Ape conveniently disappear from.

The whole story is one big reality check for Zelia hilariously enough. Her repeated attempts at diplomacy backfire horribly. First time they encounter a Gretchin, they attempt to rescue it and he immediately betrays/captures them in a stranger danger scene. Then she tries to bring peace to the two tribes and convince the two warbosses to work together. (which in itself is not a great idea) It almost looks like she's successful before one of them sticks a grenade to the other.

Then the newly united orcs try to wrangle up a giant squig before pissing off a whole horde of them and it turns into Jurassic park.

Talen gets to blast a warboss with an ork guitar.

1782822678585.png

And then they get their asses saved by the inquisitor.

1782823469609.png

He reveals that Amity is a wanted criminal of the imperium and believes she intentionally ditched the group to steal the necron crown. He enlists the children to help get it back. End scene.

It's pretty decent filler. Cant wait for how they showcase chaos.

@Newcomer 42
We get nurgle after the orks and I think that's about it.

By kid I should have said teenager, or at least that was the implication.

The tau mind control thing is intentionally obscured and not directly talked about in canon. It's implied to be a combo of several factors but propaganda, short lifespans and presumably pheromones help enforce it. It's implied to be an extremely strong suggestion more then any kind of direct control. The big nasty secret about the tau is that the "Greater Good" policy changes with who exactly's in charge. The etheral's are a lot more individualist then they'd want to admit. Although to my knowledge only one of them has ever "fallen" in an obscure videogame.

I will say, with the changes to battle-shock, Shadows in the Warp can be absolutely OPPRESSIVE. Especially when you can't use the insane bravery strategem.
Speaking of 'Nid stuff, your post reminded me to go find a few interesting lore snippets from their 5e dex.

Not anything about the 'Nids themselves specifically, but the mentions of various minor races.

That girl shouldn't have learned to walk before losing that pacifist attitude. Literally for Catachan.

I believe the origins of the Ethereals keep changing. At first, it was implied to be a thing done by the Eldar. Later it was the Dark Eldar, and then I was told that one writer implied daemons were behind, somehow.

has ever "fallen" in an obscure videogame.
Which one, the Cau FPS one?

I still am, worst part of the Necron change is that it completely gutted their rivalry with the Eldar so that GW could push Adeptus Mechanicus as their new arch-nemesis.

Fire Warrior IIRC never mentioned anything about the main character being influenced by Chaos, it was the novelization that had him outright screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!" to try and explain away how this skinny little blue dork was curbstomping hordes of Imperials, Space Marines and Chaos heretics while barely breaking a sweat.

I was talking about which game shows a fallen Ethereal. Cau is an insult against Tau in-universe IIRC.

As an Adeptus Mechanicus player, I am very pleased with having necrons be our arch nemesis
It's dumb when the AM has tech that, at times, surpasses the Necrons, but they all hoard it because they can no longer reproduce it, are stupid, selfish, or both. The result being that the AM has better guns than even the Space Marines in many cases.
