My favorite Horus moment in “False Gods” is near the end when he shows up to the Lodge meeting and at this point he’s the most impossibly smug version of himself, Little Horus makes the rare show of defiance, saying he can’t be there.

Then Horus introduces two more marines into the lodge and thst badass bodyguard of that journalist he hated. Outright telling the marines they will respect him as a warrior and welcome the poor mute guy as a brother.

He really comes off like a football dad in that scene, evil Horus is hilarious because for the most part, prior to Molech, he’s the same guy, just fresh off two major humiliations, brain rape and all those guardrails are off.

Really he’s just as much of a frat bro as Ferrus or Magnus at that point, he’s so high on himself in “Horus Rising” because the alternative is cracking under the pressure.

I still say chaos knife was a dumb writing ploy. I would’ve preferred a few more books with Horus slowly becoming more and more delusional with the great crusade while chaos was edging its way into the warmaster’s mind and the lodges becoming more and more poisonous to the legion as a whole

I think the 4 Primarchs in the running for Warmaster were Horus, Guilliman, Ferrus, and Sanguinius. Guiliman just wasn't trusted by the Emperor because of Ultramar, and like others said, he wouldn't have been able to wrangle his brothers like Horus or Sanguinius could have. We see that after the Siege of Terra, where the remaining Loyalist Primarchs are doing their own thing and only grudingly listen to Guilliman when he tries to get them to focus on an objective.
Not even that. Dorn wanted to go chase down the traitors, Guilliman wanted to deal with the moon and Mars first, because they wouldn't agree Guilliman decided to get everyone's opinion on the matter and vote. Vulkan was too busy hunting down EC to give a fuck and also assumed Guilliman wanted to just order him around. The Khan was basically on his deathbed and out of commission. Dorn had convinced Russ and The Lion to go along with his plan to find evidence within the solar system of traitors doing chaos shit and that Guilliman just wanted to order them around, so they went out, failed so the guys who were initially on his side said fuck it and went to do their own thing resulting in Russ deciding he was going to take Mars back solo doing what Guilliman wanted in the first place without even talking to him about it.

And that's with Guilliman regretting Imperium Secundus, and The Lion having been part of that knowing Guilliman regretted it. Dorn was just being a salty asshole because he didn't know anything about what the ultramarines had to deal with, and was upset that they managed to show up to help with cleanup and relief efforts after spending most of the heresy rebuilding their legion.

hey, at least it wasn't a chaos sword

fucking fulgrim

We realistically would’ve all been lodge members.

“Fuck, there’s these stupid Rembrancers everywhere, in everything and throwing their weight around. Is there anywhere we can be among normal brothers?”

This site is a lodge.

fucking fulgrim
But Fulgrim’s madness is hilarious in how 1-10 he goes, bro mood swings mid-sentence.

HH was supposed to be like 10 novels, only to sell gangbusters prompting the swries expanding to be 6 times that. If GW knew beforehand how well it will sell we'd have been only now in the actual start of the heresy proper.

Also I want to add that the Traitors were 100% correct in that the majority of the Astartes getting old yeller'd at the end of the crusade (along the Mechanicus). Magnus himself dodged a bullet in not getting chained into the Astronomicon.

Holy based, see you at the next lodge meeting.
WASH YO ASS NIGGA IT SMELLS LIKE NURGLE UP IN HERE!!
That’s very unbrotherly, I’d send you down to Istvaan III even if you were in the lodge.

They weren't 100 percent correct, they were like 50% correct I thought. Didn't Malcador just straight up say that any Astartes and primarchs that couldn't adjust to peace properly would be dealt with? Basically kind of what happened with the Heresy but in a controlled manner instead of an actual rebellion. The legions would be observed, probably by a custodian, and those deemed unfit to live peacefully after the crusade would be eliminated by those that could have adjusted.

So the Ultramarines, Salamanders, Son's of Horus, Thousand Son's, Dark Angels, Iron Hands, Emperor's Children, Blood Angels (if the red thirst isn't seen as a deal breaker), Imperial Fists, Space Wolves, The Alpha Legion? and White Scars presumably would have alls been fine. With them having roles they could have played during peace time And being able to adjust to dealing with normal people pretty well.

The Death Guard, World Eaters, Word Bearers and Iron Warriors would be fucked for multiple reasons though, all of those reasons mainly having to do with their primarchs.

Death Guard ironically would’ve been at home in the 40k Imperium. They started off as witch hunters.

I’m sure Iron Warriors would be fine. I mean the imperium would still need ditch diggers and who better to send than them?

Malcador is a CIA Nigger that glows in the dark, nothing he says can be taken as truth. Objectively the Legions were a liability and very few of its members could be taken as anything but warriors, with few legions larping as artists and politicians, as if they would be given any modicum of power. If the future of humanity was a psychic race, then the legions needed to be culled since you can't risk them rebelling and ruining everything.

The main problem for them would be the same as the Iron Warriors and World Eaters, specifically their primarchs and the massive personality issues they had that wouldn't have lent them well to peace time. Peturabo would have maybe been fine if he was allowed to fuck off and build grand structures but we all know Big E wouldn't let that happen. I also can't believe I forgot to list off the Night Lords who would have all been killed immediately upon the crusades end.

I also forgot the Raven Guard who I don't really know if they'd be fine or not.

I mean, most of the unsociables would get the Terran Raven Guard treatment.

“HAVE FUN IN THE GHOUL STARS NIGGER, BYE FUCKO!”

'What will the Imperium do with us once the crusade is done???' was already retarded because these dumbfucks were already fighting orks and eldar and shit. Who do you think was gonna be out there killing xenos and suppressing revolt just like they already were?

Had Curze not gone full crazy and Nostromo not deciding to go back to criminality I feel like Night Lords would act as the Emperor’s judicators and play a part in the Imperium helping to keep people in line. Much like how Space Wolves were used as the Emperor’s executioners for other legions, imagine a rebellious world easily being brought back into compliance when certain… actions… are undertaken for the good of the Imperium.

The Night Lords would have been terrifying Arbites

Double post but there are rumours that Warhammer Stores have been told that they have to paint their Armageddon boxes as Ultramarines.

r/blood angels are taking it well.
