I'm a little confused as to how blast weapons in 9e work. So are they automatic hits on units of 6 or more? And does wound roll determine how many models are wounded?

Unless the weapon has an "area of effect" aka splash damage, I can't see how that would affect multiple models at the same time.

6 or more a blast weapon will make a min of 3 shots.

No. Minimum of three attacks against units with 6-10 models - you still need to roll to hit for each. Also you do maximum attacks if the unit you're targeting has 11+ models.
