I always thought it was a mistake for Gaijin to add stupid gimmicks like tanks, ships, and helicopters. I wouldn't have minded the jumps from WWII tech if they had managed to keep them separated intelligently but IMO War Thunder should have always stayed a dog fighting game.

I haven't even bothered with the tanks and ship side of the game and don't think I will. At least the air combat in the game is solid as it is from what I've played so far.

It should have stayed like that, the current cancer that is War Thunder has become buggy, unpolished, unoptimized to shit and its grind multiplied two-fold. And before you say WoT is worse, consider that the servers are stable and the fact the grind has become relatively balanced, unlike in this game where you seriously have to watch your economy because the SL multiplier rewards keep decreasing for some fucking reason.

Maybe if they split the game for WW2-Cold War content and modern content into seperate clients, I would play again but the grind and Silver Lions changes ruins this for me. Its essentially the Escape from Tarkov situation where the devs want the hardcore autists and leave the average player to dust.

Say what? A F2P game aimed at children whose primary criteria for choosing a game is "it doesn't cost money" is buggy, unpolished, unoptimized and grindy? I never would've guessed.

Since when was War Thunder aimed at children? Since it's beta, the primary market has always been WWII warbird spergs.

You're moving the goal posts. Gaijin had a very specific plan of monetization at the beginning. These are Eastern European autistic devs, I don't know if you have any experience with that demographic but they are usually highly autistic and the games they make are for people of the same.

If only they were autistic about actually fixing the systems they create. That'd be nice for a change.
