Hey there, Im really familiar with the self-shipping community on tumblr, which I know has been brought up here a few times. Im new to forums just in general but I do have many stories from my adventures in the community, I'd love to spark some conversation about the selfship community itself because its been a big interest of mine and I've been watching it for a while..if anyones interested I can talk a lot more about it, this is mostly to gauge interest and whatnot and I felt like this thread was the most fitting one to post this in

If you have any stories/experiences of weird/eccentric people in that community, this thread is the right place to share them. However, it seems you’re new so it would be best to lurk more to get a sense of forum etiquette before posting anything.

I'm still waiting for the OG one to come back one day. That was hilarious drama.

Checking up on it today, the subreddit is full of the same old, same old. Ryuk girl is posting bad art daily, Jordanna is still writing bad cheesy daily prompts. Marzi is still yammering about Octavio to the point her own thread needs to be updated. It's gotten a little bit stale but holy shit the dedication from some of these people. Hell, if you look at Jordanna's account she ONLY posts on r/waifuism and doesn't engage with Reddit otherwise. It's almost creepy.

I figured Ikoma Girl was an asshole from her general aura, but this is something else. Imagine getting mad at people for being attached to characters while raving about friendfus in the same sentence. She gives more respect to her fictional friends than people in her own community.
 
Just stumbled onto this because of the banner text. Reminds me of that Madthad guy. I genuinely feel somewhat bad for some of these people, like you can tell it's sometimes a coping mechanism for their extreme loneliness. Anime has been a blight on society.

On January nineteenth, a selfshipper I posted about previously announced that she is pregnant. I remember seeing the post and intending to mention it here, but I kept forgetting and eventually forgot about her entirely. Better late than never, right?

As to whether this is a real baby or just an elaborate LARP, I’m inclined to believe it’s real. If it was just another f/o, I think she’d simply start sperging about them without the whole to-do about being pregnant. In roughly 5 months, we’ll have our answer. And, if you were curious, she does have child f/os.

In brief, an old 90s cartoon, Rescue Rangers, just got a movie reboot, in which famous furry sex symbol and millenial waifu, Gadget Hackwrench, gets married to a fly and has several dozen rat/fly babies.

I know the Reddit and Discord communities featured in this thread tend to be filled with people too young to remember Gadget, but if you know any 30-something (or even 40-something) waifuists, might want to check in on them, make sure they're doing OK.
