Has anyone tried to reverse image search the homeless shelter image? I don't wanna say she'd lie about this stuff, but a lot of us believed Clair to be a troll and going homeless seems a bit too far for even the most dedicated troll.

I honestly don't think she's a troll. I was chatting with an acquaintance the other day and he knew someone very similar, with her own handmade cardboard cutout and waifuist blowup over the holidays. Not the same person after comparing notes. I also don't see any matches online.

Curious about which Christian shelter she's in. There aren't that many Christian based ones in that wider area, most are secular. There is a youth one called Covenant House she would be able to go to since she falls into the age range, and Bay Area Rescue Mission. I can't seem to find interior pictures of them, but they all have bunk beds or nicer rooms than where she's at, so I'm guessing she went to a "first come first serve" shelter, which likely has beds for her since its rarer to find women on the streets compared to men.

I have a hard time picturing her being able to find steady enough work to be able to rent somewhere though, unless she's willing to flat share. Based on her own admission and complete lack of social skills, I don't see her wanting to do that either.

This is why y'all don't coddle your kids and let them neet. Guessing that's why she was kicked out. Dad wanted her to get a life, literally, and she refused, so out she went.

she might have been able to stay for a while longer against the dad's will if she involved the authorities. i'm pretty sure you're not allowed to kick someone into the street one day suddenly even if they're your child and don't pay rent, you have to give some notice or it's an illegal eviction. she then could have had some time to contact services and get a job in preparation for independent living.

I've heard the exact opposite. Getting a legal eviction executed in California can take as long as a year. Someone can be a total tard tenant but clog up the courts with enough red tape that it takes forever to actually get the sheriff to remove them from the building.

That's if they are actually a legal tenant, either supposed to pay rent or pay rent for exchange in services. Specific cities themselves may have more strict ordinances, probably in certain LA areas, but the state itself doesn't have those same laws with people simply chilling in your house with no contract in place, like a temporary couch surfer or your neet adult child for example. If her father had some sort of verbal contract with her that she can stay in the house as an adult if say, she cleans the house and takes grandma to church or something on Sundays, she might have a case. Or if her area has some sort of squatter protections.

If it's trolling, it's horrifyingly elaborate. This kid had to make a cutout, multiple paper stand-up things, take it out to the town (Boise) and to the dinner table on Thanksgiving. And research the Oakland area somewhat to know what homeless shelters were in the area.
