I'm going to skip the introductory of why I want to do this because my opinion and thoughts do not matter: Is it at all feasible just to own a modest machine and just use it to administrate virtual machines in the cloud for every application? For example, if I want to just browse the internet I would just spin up a machine to do that task solely, then terminate it when done. Games? Spin up a beefy one then stop it when done, then start it again when I want to play. Discord? Same. Journals? Same.

Talk me into, or out of it.

Whose cloud? I'd be worried that if your internet traffic is coming from some datacenter, you'd be classified firmly in the "spambot" category by Cloudflare etc. Like using a VPN but worse.
I haven't tried this myself though.

I previously had great success years ago being able to stream games to a dinky laptop when I was intransient using AWS using spot instances in their top graphical glory (albit laggy).

Cloud is fucking gay. Its in the agreement that they can access your machine and data whenever they want for purposes that are vague enough that basically they can do it anytime and if you use it browse here I wouldn't be surprised if they just kill the machine and ban you from the services. You could do all of that on your home machine via virtualisation, minus the games (though even with a half decent machine you can pass through the GPU on a hypervisor for the games).

I'm being forced to use JavaScript everywhere I browse though. A VPN will solve the traffic problem but not the ident issue. None need to know my goddamn screen size.

librewolf/mullvad have anti-fingerprinting functionality, like letterboxing for the screen resolution
