Sonic CD had the best soundtrack of all Sonic games in my opinion. Both US and Japanese tracks were great, but I especially enjoy this one.

Sonic CD easily has both of the best soundtracks of the series (my opinion), although the game itself is my least favourite of the classic series (also opinion of course)

I found this soundtrack while looking for electronic albums. It's the soundtrack to a Half-Life 2 mod called "NeoTokyo". It was made by a man called 0edit from Australia. It's surprisingly good. It's got a really haunting and bleak aesthetic feel it it. I recommend giving it a listen even if you don't want to play the game.
