Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

I'd say this is more "normal" legal stuff, I think we've been spoiled by just how exceptional the other side has been with every "sneeze" Vic and his legal team have done. This is probably what Nick was expecting the majority of this dumpster fire of a case was SUPPOSE to be like, boring, quiet, and uninteresting, good thing though, that the defendant side, kickvic dipshits, and the law speds basically turning this into "like our Japanese animes"

Meyer v Waid, or even the lolsuit were the normal timeframes people were expecting. This went like lightning.

the optimist in me wants to say the defendants didn't respond until very late meaning it wasn't known if the oppose or not but the realist just thinks this was done basically going "Yeah i guess we file it now"

Bullock says he e-mailed the 3 defense attorneys last Friday to confirm they were OK with the extension.

I don't know if that counts as last minute, but it's also right around the time Doucette started sperging about BHBC "begging for an extension".

Also, it looks like they contacted the Sean "I don't handle the appeals" Lemoine about the appeals court motion, and he didn't oppose it.

Maybe we'll get more rounds of the Lemon Fuhrer's stupidity in the appeals filings.

OK so I just want to make this clear: If the COA denies the request is Vic's team fucked?
Not quite, from the way it was explained, you can go until you win on something or give up, be it confidence or financial related giving up situation. Why do you think they've tried to go after, Vic's confidence or try to go after his wallet, cause they KNOW they cannot outlast Vic, thanks in part to the GFM and Community/Fandom Support he is getting. They deny the request, and it becomes a war of attrition till one side buckles under. Though again, this is from what I understand here.

EDIT: Ah wait, I was thinking too big in scope as others have already answered what you were REALLY asking, but yeah, the extension request is completely unopposed, there is little reason to deny it.

Última edición:
if no one opposes the request for extension, there is no reason to not grant it. It’s not as if this is the 10th extension to the COA.

It will be instantly granted, and we all now know how important BHBC considers this case. It's something they'll get around to, whenever they feel like it.

Or the other cases they are working on had hard deadlines and so they requested to push this one back, which has a soft deadline.

I wouldn't call an accelerated appeal a soft deadline, considering the appeals court itself set that deadline.

It's literally BHBC fucking up. IMO. I am very unimpressed. But more importantly I think the appeals court will also be unimpressed.

Bunch of BHBC dickriders with salty ratings, they been a consistent disappointment with regards to this case and it's clear they're not the lawfirm for this suit, maybe if Vic was an oil baron they'd give a fuck.

They brought Martinez Hsu on to run appeals and to lighten the workload....only to delay the appeal citing too much workload. There's 5 senior partners across 2 lawfirms and best they could do was "sorry, I need more time finish my homework".

HSU needs extra time to figure out how to win the case with Ty's trash filings.

Honestly as someone who knows fuck all about the legal process, it seems really strange that Vic would hire Hsu to assist with appeals, only to have them request a deadline extension because BHBC is too busy. Is it just a matter of BHBC's business/incompetence/whatever actively impeding Hsu's ability to assist, or is this somehow two separate firms independently fucking up at the absolute wrong time?

This is an obviously urgent situation and a bunch of people sitting on top of a pile of money seem to have no interest at all in doing anything other than draining that pile of money.

Nick and Ty and anyone else need to be forced to answer what the fuck is going on with the money they've begged for. What the FUCK is going on?

I'm not a fan of this backpedal either, but I guess the boomered notary has them scared and they don't want to fuck this up.

Still think they should've filed regardless; they feel almost guaranteed to drag MoRon back bare minimum regardless of wonky appeal briefs.

Jesus did almost everyone sped out?
Sped out after CoA makes a decision, would you rather have a half done filing again or it delayed and fully complete as much as it can? Calm down everyone, Jesus fucking Christ. Almost reminds me of twitter speds.

More specifically, the LawTwitter speds.

A hard deadline is that court appearance is on x date, and all material must be before the court 3 days prior.

it is a soft deadline, in that parties can request extension of time. Would be interesting to look through similar CoA cases and see the extension requests.

Optimism in me says they are being safe than sorry, but ehh....
