I will say this once again: Ty Beard writes wills and does deals. His day-to-day practice has as much to do with trial law as it does with brain surgery. The fact that he didn't realize that made me question his competence from the first time I heard about this case.

Or he was just in it for the money and thought this was an easy payday.

He didn't lose the appeal because of a technicality. He lost the appeal because Ty bought into Lemoines game of flinging thousands of pages at a court room thinking anyone is going to bother reading them. Chupp was never going to read all that shit and Lemoine flinging shit at the wall is exactly what did the trick.

Nobody is reading through thousands of pages of autism, not the judge. Not the court. And CERTAINLY not the appeals court. Regardless of whether it's their job to or not. Assuming the appeals court does anything other than skim the first few pages and search for anything they can use to get it off their docket is dumb and optimistic. If you can't get your average college professor to the read the 20 page essays they assign their class why do you think courts filled with state workers will?

I put 80% blame on Ty and 20% on Chupp.
Things could had been different if he was actually prompt with notaries and submissions.
Even back then I was genuinely concerned with how much Ty treated it like a game; non stop streaming with Nick and just nonchalant demeanor.

I fear they will be rewarded until they are considered too far up the privilege pyramid and get replaced by a Bipoc.
There is some pushback by smaller entities and individual artists against localizers messing with their work, but the big players in Japan are now starting to involve localizers into their production process.
Japan doesn't mind taking Larry Fink's money.
