Very interesting that this all started because some disgusting hags made a couple of false accusations. I am sure they think this makes them "stunning and brave," but in reality it just shows that they're absolute cunts. Cunts who tried to destroy a man all because of petty jelousy.
When you go back and look at it, without the "believe all women" mantra, their whole story falls apart like wet paper mache. As well it should. So scarce were their facts that they had to stoop to inventing ridiculous stories like "he ate a jellybean."
Not even a single accusation of actual rape - false or otherwise! "Everyone knows it, though," they said. "Vic has a long-standing reputation for this sort of thing." Except if you actually start asking people, you'll find that these accusations only circulated within their own tiny clique. Rather suspicious, don't you think?
Someone who was widely known as an abuser would have people crawling out of the woodwork with real accusations, not "he made a pregnant woman cry once by yelling at her because his signing table had no sharpies!" Even their worst accusations boil down to "he tried to proposition someone, and when they said no, he dropped it," so as far as their accusations of him being a pedophile? X to doubt on that. Unless they can come up with better evidence than him hugging a fan, that's just outright ridiculous. All sorts of voice actors engage with the public in the same ways they're finding fault with him for doing. Lots of projection going on here, if you asked me. Label him a pedo because he gave a fan a hug and a kiss on the cheek or forehead? You expect me to believe that they haven't done this too?
At the end of the day, this all boils down to their jealousy. They hated him because he was successful. They hated him because he was beloved. Rather than taking his example and becoming better toward their own fans, they opted to knife him in the back. A cowardly move. Can you blame him for opting to sue? They gave him no other choice. Either sue, or watch helplessly as his entire career went down in flames. Doubly hurtful because a lawsuit is so expensive, but at least he has the resources to pursue one.
To any other person, this could have been a death sentence. Others have killed themselves over this sort of thing.
Justice demands that false accusers must incur a price for their false accusations. Accusations which are serious and could destroy a man's life must be sifted to determine the truth, and whichever party is guilty must receive a fair punishment. Men facing these accusations are certainly punished; they have almost no hope of ever coming back from them. It's not even clear at this point whether ultimately he will. Encouraging as it is to see him getting invited back to some conventions after being canceled, there will be people no doubt still trying to undermine his career, and they have a frightening amount of control over the anime industry; they'll redouble their efforts at trying to force him out of it.
Maybe the tide will finally begin to be stemmed in these false accusations. As false accusers are held responsible for their malicious accusations, we can hope that they'll begin taking pause before they make them. Rather steep slope for us to try to climb, after we've already slid so far, but we cannot give up hope. Completely giving up now would just be accepting defeat. Having said all of this, now go back and read the first letter of every sentence. I rest my case.
