Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Does anyone know who the hell this guy is? I find it really sketchy that this dude seemingly feels empowered to offer commentary on legal issues and apparently holds himself as a "legal educator" without providing any of his credentials. This is reeks of something similar to Lemoine supposedly being a "TCPA Expert." As we all know by now, merely because you've passed a state bar exam doesn't mean your opinion is worth jack shit if you're opining on a subject you have literally zero experience in and refuse to do any substantial legal research on.

For all you can say about Nick, at least Nick doesn't hide where he comes from or misrepresent his experience as a litigator.

He's not part of LawTwitter. More of casual in this case. Unlike Lawtwitter he does want come on Nick's show and discuss the case with him

He's a canadian lawyer and worked for Borden Ladner Gervais LLP for 5 years.

One of the biggest law firms in canada. Big dick shit.

You have lawyer trading cards, don't you? ^_-
Yes, with my lawyer info cards

It’s always been possible. It’s literally what’s appeals courts do.
I've wondered if "Chupp Chupped it up lol" was just my biases talking. After looking into it, I think Nick's assessment that he's simply not a good (or at least attentive judge) is right.

He was most likely in a bad mood because he got snubbed for an appeals court position back in September. He has a record of fucking up the law, having received at least three writs of mandamus (In Re Salazar, In Re Dakota Directional Drilling, and In Re Universal Underwriters Of Texas Insurance Company). He's not even popular, as evidenced by getting utterly corncobbed out of his second shot at getting an appeals court position by two people who aren't even judges.

Which he should have been. The man is an idiot.

This wasn't a put you on the spot question. He had all the time in the world to answer it. The questionnaire this was on was routine and for all the other candidates.

And this was his response.

If this was the first thing like this I'd seen out of Chupp I would cut some slack and say he did something stupid, not that he is stupid, but all benefit of the doubt has long been burned to the ground.

The man is a goddamn idiot.

In my short time here, I've learned if there is one thing not to do, is to play tease games, cause people round here will go for the jugular. Also try to tone back the excitement, you gave Nick the word to not reveal what it is. So be someone of their word and keep it in your pants. No more clarifying, just leave it as it is. It's hard to hold onto a secret, but go step away from the computer or do something else to distract you than ruining surprise for everyone else.
If there is one thing that will get you banned, being an attention whore teasing content and being a complete faggot about it is it.

He very likely has to breathe manually, the dude is dangerous being in any position at the courthouse beyond refilling the soap dispenser.
