Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

This was the most likely even to occur in the case. Let's be honest, with how long it took appeals to happen it was obvious to everyone Beard hurt the case. Bright side, now Ron has the money for a new house and maybe his forever fiancee will finally marry him.
Twitter will be full of people either crying or gloating and all around acting like retards so more content for months to come. It's all this case has done anyways.

Idk why anyone shits on Nick for any of this. He's always been open about the fact that these things are un uphill battle, and it's not like he was Vic's lawyer. Ty's fuck up isn't Nick's.
I've followed this shit from the beginning and the 'always' is cope - his initial opinion was very strong, and he only toned it down as the fuckups mounted.

At least Vick won in the court of public opinion.
I want to share your sentiment here, trust me I really do. However I believe public opinion is complicated and varies from circle to circle. The problem is Vic is vindicated on places like here and to anyone who has followed this case somewhat critically, but not on places that deal with his industry. It doesn't mean as much if he isn't vindicated within the community around his industry as a whole and can't land more acting gigs.

I understand it's about finding the silver linings at this point and trying to find the optimism in a shitty situation (even if there doesnt seem to be much of one). However I also believe at this point it would be more productive to Vic to figure out how to move on from here.

This makes me recall the story of a Runescape player who was overzealously sentenced unfairly to 6 years in prison by a judge for making a threat in a video game. No matter how bad things got, in the end he seemed to make it out ok and is living a relatively good life today.

I look at that story for inspiration for how someone's life can basically be run through the wringer but still have the will power to come out on the other side.

They try the reconsideration hail mary, it fails.

Chupp gets the fees thing thrown back in his lap.

Chupp, being a lazy retarded fuckwit, does the thing that requires the absolute least effort: Awards 100% fees for everything he's asked.

Vic goes back to rebuilding his career at his new studio.

Monica and Rial go back to the new Golden Corral since that one hasn't got them on the blacklist for abusing the all you can eat policy yet.

Ron goes back to touching himself while watcing old videos of the bull and Monica (she won't let him stay in the room anymore).
Bold of you to think Vic has a career to build at this point. Especially since anything Vic is associated with will have the legion of KV talking about this loss of appeal to folks who are so obsessed with image and PR. Hell, it happened with his Matsuri work.
Also is it true that Vic sold his house?
No clue. But from what I’ve heard, Texas has laws where you can’t take somebody’s house in order to satisfy a damages payment.

you forgot the part where Ty's actual practice is put to use.

Asset sheltering.

after running up the bills he has most likely already made Vic as judgement proof as possible already. He can keep sucking off the nipple of that war chest, while keeping all creditors for defendants away. He has Boomer'd the most retarded way into a whale client that he can keep milking as long as weebs donate.

FTFY :story:

Gotta agree with Jersh though that Vic should just have come out at the beginning of this. No fully heterosexual man is that much of a diva about his clothes, his hair, his gayass vanilla latte drinks or how the venues he appears at are set up lmao

If Vic got a strip-mall lawyer like Marchi did, he would have atleast gotten past the TCPA, which is funny in a depressing way.

The only big positive thing I can give Ty after all this, it is getting the depositions, which really turned public opinion against Ron and Monica.
I think Vic would have preferred a won lawsuit.

The issue is that Nick really was treating this like a sure fire victory from very early on. This is actually why I have a such deep distaste for him, because I realized that the things he was promising were never going to come true.

He is VERY clearly a terrible lawyer, and I feel that a lot of people are waking up to that fact. Never, ever go to Nick Rekieta for legal livestreams.

I mean, there is not many reasons it shouldn't have been sure fire

The big reason it was not was the meme beard playing the game like a retard.

Guess maybe all that gloating and chest puffing Ty did on Nick's show during the case should have been spent better prepping evidence and docs, huh?
Ah HAH, no one will expect me to file everything late, this will be a surefire way for me to gain victory!
No way I could put in my filings 20 minutes or even more earlier to show the judge my care for the case and respect for him!

Oh no i lost!

better file my appeal late, no one will expect this cunning plan.

That’s because it was. When Ty someone how screwed up so bad it wasn’t was when his views shifted. Don’t see why you have such distaste for him when his view of the case changed with circumstance.
He is VERY clearly a terrible lawyer,
He gets the results he wants in the majority of cases he practices and is rarely wrong in his reading of the cases he comments on. Don’t see how that makes him a terrible lawyer.
