There's some truth to it because I've been trying to archive some new posts from VICE and not able to do so.

It wouldn't surprise me if Vice (or any website for that matter) did that, since it appropriates their content without compensating them with traffic and ad revenue. My point is that we're supposed to be a forum that laughs at other people getting trolled and chimping on the internet yet we react with utter credulity to an unsourced screencap.

It looks like they either deliberately or inadvertently disabled archiving, but the tweet with nutty justifications was a fake.

We got trolled by a literal autist to the point we had a whole subforum on him. It's not exactly new.

Screengrabs are easily faked. This thread illustrates that very problem.

The main archival services are generally regarded as neutral, fully automatic services that simply archive the original HTML and related resources. There's no room for tampering.

A better archival service is needed.

For now we can either just take screen shots of Vice and websites that will do something similar, or make an archive of the webcached version of any of their pages. Takes a bit longer to archive, but you can do it. It does look like shit though.
