Just to ask out of both curiosity and necessity, but where do you (the beautiful and sexy reader, yeah I see you) get your critique for your work on the upper case I Internet?

For any self-produced media, be it paintings to music, it's important to have an outside perspective on what you may be doing wrong and right, problem is that the vast majority of the web is full of the average joe that can't provide any critique outside of "It's good" or "it's bad", and professionals in the industry are rarely inclined to provide an eye that doesn't get paid, as they should.

Where would you recommend? Is it better to just save up some money and pay an expert for a revision? Are art support reddits and forums, a meme?

Friends. Good ones. People who can give you earnest feedback without sugarcoating are rare, but they're out there.

It's not that hard to find people who will be honest with your work, you even have threads on here, Kiwifarms itself, where they'll do that.

I'm sure there are subreddits, Discord servers, etc, etc where you can do this as well.

Subreddits and discord servers are not willing to give you real critiques, if you're good enough they'll only stroke you off. /ic/ is a good place for a critique but its overran with anime porn and anime-adjacent artists who really can't give anyone a good critique on anything outside of their own niche.

I think a dedicated critique thread is great. I've been learning architectural drawing lately, which is a major 180 for me as an artist because I typically focus on figures and landscapes. I would love a critique so I can get this shit going in the right direction.

I'd suggest going to meetup workshops that host events of your interest before dolling out money for a professional opinion. You might get more thorough feedback from other participants, especially if their skill is more proximal to yours than getting someone that would give you word salad that does fuck all for you.
