Vegetarian or Vegan? - Which would you rather be?

neither, because I can't live without my lasagna and my precious cheese, but I think I would try vegetarian and vegan food too, vegan spaghetti seems pretty tasty.
 
Vegetarian. I don't like using supplements, and the bio-availability of certain nutrients is very poor in plant based foods to the point where supplements are required. I don't like supplements because the things that are heavily processed, such as sugar, lack the other things, like fiber, that help you process and digest the nutrients. Other heavily processed things like hot-dogs can increase one's risk of cancer if consumed regularly. I extrapolate that out to supplements at large, though that could be in error. I also don't see how veganism is sustainable over the long term. Singular people have found great success with it, so I've been told, but as far as I'm aware there hasn't been a single multi-generational group of people who have subsisted with anything less than 40% animal products in their diet. If we had the metabolism of apes or cows then sure, but we don't.
Veganism done for the good of animals doesn't seem entirely feasible unless you grow your own, since industrial agriculture outside of producing animal products kills plenty of animals. Rats, gophers, moles etc. We don't even get to eat them. They're just waste.
If you want to help the environment eating locally and in season is the best you can do.
Aside from calling for an immediate large scale genocide which I do keep pushing for but nobody seems to want for some weird reason like "Ethics" and "Morality" and "Nuclear winter isn't the solution to global warming you fucking retard oh my God".
Anyway, eating vegan and getting all the nutrients you need while also eating locally and in season sounds like tough situation and I don't know how anyone could effectively manage that, let alone see how that could be managed everywhere. At least as a vegetarian I could get eggs from a chicken or milk from a goat in my back yard.
This is also a "physician, heal thyself" situation because I don't eat locally or in season.
But causing more global warming and localized resource shortages does inch us closer to nuclear war. I'll win in the end, you'll see!

Vegetarian, because I don't want to waste my precious time scrutinizing every label and having nothing to eat at most restaurants, and cheese is one of my major food groups.

Also: the new vegetarian meats are phenomenal. Both Beyond Meat and Impossible Burgers are on par with actual ground beef, IMHO.
Now that the burger zone is covered, I'm going vegetarian again for sure. I can't think of anything I'd be missing out on that I care about.
 
Vegetarianism is fine. I've done short bouts of it now and then but never committed to it. As a rule a lot of us meat-lovers could do with more vegetables in our diet that aren't potatoes, tomatoes or onions.

But if I did go vegetarian for a long length of time I'd need a steady supply of yellow squash. No lie, it's one of my favorite foods.

Veganism, on the other hand, is malnutrition with extra steps.
 
Vegetarian for sure, because I do love eggs, cheese, and milk. Veganism not only is malnutrition while spending a fortune but it requires having an obnoxious personality.
 
Vegan. I never liked dairy or eggs even as a kid and I've gotten over things like brisket.

Beans, rice, lentils, potatoes, and ordinary produce are far cheaper than some of the meat I've seen on the market.

Not that bad. I've become too comfortable with the health benefits to rub it in your face as if it were another fad diet. It's been a nice experience and I've had to learn a lot more about food this way. Improved my diet from a shit ton of pizza and frozen food into things like wild rice and chickpeas. Best of all: my diet isn't even centralized around soy yet I'm not malnourished. Perhaps lacking a few nutrients, but my skin is still normal color and I am stronger than I was before going vegan.

And eat what in this spurt of self-control exactly? Dog food? Meat is too expensive and I'm not going back to TV dinners or pre-prepared food, it's horrible. The farthest break from veganism I'd go is pescaterian but even that I'm not too confident in. Plus I've felt legitimately better after I went vegan.

What type of shit were you buying, because last I checked chicken's pretty damn cheap, especially if you nut up and get a whole bird and butcher the fucker yourself. Then you mix in with rice, veg of your choice and can then make broth out of the thing's body and make some bomb soups and stews. Ground beef is also pretty cheap and you can do pretty smart stretching if you splice in mushrooms, onions, bread, and basically make a meatball meal from it. Unless you're getting pre-seasoned shit or stuff like lamb, meat would've always been notably cheaper and more filling than your boxed tendies dude.

And you are honestly coming off as preachy even if you don't mean to.

Chicken is expensive as hell where I live. Like I said: I bought stretchy, crunchy chicken (the lowest quality possible) for approximately 6 dollars. Meat isn't that cheap, and if it is, then it's low-quality frozen food type stuff. Ground beef is affordable and chili-type meals are a pretty cheap and balanced fill-ups, I would not argue against that.
Also, the reason I'm seen as preachy is because I'm trying too hard to put my personal experience and morale out there on a forum dedicated to luls culture. If a story's to be told, it's to be told with humor and by somebody else, otherwise it's just powerleveling. I seem to forget what makes this site different than 4chan.
