There are breeds of dogs that can be put on a vegan diet if you're very carefully monitoring their health but that doesn't mean they should be. The optimal forms of their nutrition come in meat.
Cats however, are super carnivores and need a diet of almost entirely meat but I've seen stories of vegan who try anyway.

I don't care much if you go cold turkey on meat, dairy, or whatever you wanna' abstain from eating, but please keep in mind that just because you're a vegan doesn't mean your pets have to go through that same lifestyle. Your pets CANNOT abstain from meat. They need it to survive and grow up to be happy healthy doggies / kitties / whatever. If you ignore that to fulfill your " my house, my rules " food quota, then you don't deserve animals anywhere near your sorry ass.
