My Steam Machine turned up on Monday and it’s been pretty ok so far. Swapping the SSD/RAM was easy enough, just need to be gentle with the two ribbon cables on either side of the heatsink. The Steam Controller is fairly nice too although I’ve gone back to my 8bido Pro 3, except for games that want a mouse input. Currently playing through SMT V at 1440p locked at 120fps.
The other evening I looked down to see that the led bar had turned red, turns out the Steam Machine can’t deal with being pushed toward the back of the spaces under the TV. Pulling it forward a bit solved the problem, I expect this was because it was recycling its own exhausted heat.

Motherfucker, those were the times. Did you use the overheating trick to get 10-30 minutes of playing time out of an already RROD'd console? I did. But then again I'm a retard.
