"Syfy has given a series order to Vagrant Queen, a live-action adaptation of the star-spanning Vault Comics series that will be produced by Blue Ice Pictures and by an all-female team of writers and directors featuring Jem Garrard as creator and showrunner. "

From the director of...um..Nothing of relevance from Canada, we have Vagrant Queen. A strong woman of color who shows no personality outside of being snarky and uninterested in what happens around her. Only on the syfy channel, which already is a hint of the quality of the product. Its from some crappy comic no one read by infamous troon Mags Visaggio.

Its like a Marvel comic from the last few years. While visually it has some nice looking designs and sets, but its also as generic as possible in what its taking inspiration from. If you combined star wars, star trek, and blade runner, put them in a blender and took out everything that made them special you'd have this. Also the dialogue is that same obnoxious faggy quirky shit thats in everything these losers make,.
But then again when this is what the showrunner of the series looks like, what do you expect?

Sure makes me yearn for the days of farscape. Wasn't a perfect show but its a hell of a lot better than this shit. The comic art is pretty damn putrid though.

And here I was thinking the Syfy channel couldn't get any worse. Hey, someone had to say it.

To be honest I'm not interested in popular culture because I'm critical of consumerism and fandom, which is why it wouldn't surprise me-unfortunately-that there were would be an audience for this garbage.

Oh boy, just what everyone wanted, a version of Jupiter Ascending made by less talented people, stretched out over more time, and doubtlessly with troonery. Because the higher quality version was such a success.

I miss the old Sci Fi channel, it gradually went to shit once they adopted the re.tarded "SyFy" moniker.

They're labeling march as "Mansel in distress" month on promos. Really is some top tier cringe, but damn if I dont miss old scifi channel. The quality of Sharkando, sharktopus, 2 headed shark, sand sharks, ghost shark, dam shark, river shark, Ozark shark, Mississippi river shark, nightmare shark, 3 headed shark, Ice sharks, avalanche sharks, toxic shark, dinoshark, planet of the sharks, shark isle, shark week, empire of the sharks, 6 headed shark attack, trailer park shark, and megaladon combined is better than this current woke faggotry.

Christ, this looks dull.

Also, how the fuck is SyFy still a thing? Where's the money for all of this shit coming from?

Syfy has been a real rollercoaster of quality over the past few years. They've made some good and great shows, but they ended up canceling all of them.

For the record, I don't think the Sci Fi Channel was ever great, they always had a lot of cheesy crap, for example does anyone remember that 2007 Flash Gordon series where the "alien planet" was just the Canadian woods where the Earth scenes were shot but with a color camera filter?

But they had worthwhile stuff too.

"all-female team of writers and directors ..."

I'm a woman and I still make it a point to avoid any series/movie that touts this as a selling point.

Same.

Though the source of this shitty graphic novel is a balding ugly comicman who thinks he's a lady so it's ironic they're touting this as a FEMINIST DREAM SHOW. I guess a man's wetdream comic of space lesbians is empowerment now.

I sincerely wish the show all the success that the comic it's based on has experienced:

Yep that's right, according to Chomichron, by issue 4 Vagrant Queen was selling 769 issues ....in direct market sales to stores. Something tells me that the 4 people that actually picked it up off the shelf and bought a copy will probably love the show! You're on to a real winner there Sy-fi!

That's how [current year] comics work for the companies that aren't Marvel or DC. They create new hyper woke comics in hope to get a Netflix deal. They don't give a shit about the comic book medium.
There's a company that made a comic about a morbidly obese female superhero (the one that made a special issue to endorse Hillary Clinton in 2016), they admited later that they did it only to get one fat blonde actress (I don't know her name, I think she's australian) to promote the book to her Hollywood circle of people. The comics only sold a few copies but they didn't care, they wanted a Hollywood deal.
Changing his gender didn't really help his career, sure he got more opportunities at Marvel but none of his books sold enough copies.
The industry's next big thing is Vita Ayala, a self-described "they/them queer & brown" author who doesn't know how to write comics but is somehow able to deliver a handfull of books every month (that no one buys).

I stopped watching SCI FI ORIGINAL shows once I noticed they were all recorded in Canada. (Shortly after grimdark Farscape got cancelled in favor of... grimdark BSG, which I liked well enough until the last half of the fourth season.)

The day of the rake approaches, leafs.

90s and 2000s TV was packed to the absolute brim with shot in Canada stuff.
