Watching Adult Swim's Uzumaki:
The first episode's animation quality was fantastic. The intricate rotoscoped detail really shines. Unfortunately since it's only four episodes it seems like it's trying to cram too much in too short of time, which makes the spooky reveals a lot lamer when not given enough buildup.
Second episode. The animation quality absolutely tanked. There's no more rotoscoping, it looks like a normal anime now (which wouldn't bother me usually) but the difference is so stark since there's so many still shots and static conversations. This also makes any scary scenes fall flat as well, Seems like all the money was blown on the first episode.
Unfortunately I don't even know if I want to watch it anymore since the only thing still going for it is the Colin Stetson music. Really sucks too because it could've finally been a good Junji Ito adaptation if it only covered 1 story an episode and kept the animation quality.
