At the suggestion of @Hellblazer I made a group for the displaced Shaner followers after the closing of his threads. The thought occurred to me that this might be a better model than the current one. When lolcows show up, the main threads get turned into a shitty sea of "notice me, autism senpai". If they were contained to relevant groups about them, the main threads could be used as info stations, while the groups could contain the shitposting and sperging, away from where the mods and have to deal with the shit. Does this sound viable?
I'd like this idea better if it was more like the older group model Null implemented that was more akin to like an 8chan sorta deal where we could create and moderate our own forums.
I've advocated in the past of having a "dumping ground" forum that only banned and contained users could post in.
