The general election isn't just a referendum on who gets to be president but also reveals the prevailing political movement in the country. The fact that many major publications are refusing to endorse Kamala are an indication of this. If these publications continue to ignore public opinion and try to continue to astroturf a failing candidate/movement, it reflects poorly on them and shows how little relevance they actually possess in public discourse.

I, like many users here I imagine, considered themselves liberal at one point. The shift in my beliefs didn't come from "right-wing disinformation," it came from being around woke shit and trying to reconcile the dissonance that comes with having progressive beliefs.

If "wokeness" had a positive effect of people's public opinion of progressive ideology, mass media would continue to espouse it. People are outright mocking it at this point. It's increasingly becoming an out of touch, impotent movement and the people that run the media and entertainment have to reconcile this with their desire to stay relevant.

Normal people hate woke shit and it shows. More and more people aren't buying their bideogames or watching their slop. There is an entire online media ecosystem that exists solely to shit on the slop produced by the media elite. If these companies and media figureheads want to continue to exist, they have to actually listen to what people want or face going out of business. The free money from Blackrock is drying up.

Those who will continue to push "wokeness" after a Trump victory literally have the mindset of "The beatings will continue until morale improves." The ones that ditch the woke movement or tone it back are truly the ones trying to be "on the right side of history."

Im not sure if this has been brought up, but Trump is trying to bring the economy back to pre WW2 functionality. Or was it the civil war that implemented the income tax? No taxes on tips when so much of the economy is service/hospitality related. No taxes on overtime. Using tariffs to fund the goverment essentially. Nobody has mentioned this anywhere and it's absolutely revolutionary if he pulls it off. He is quietly moving to getting rid of income taxes period but can't say it. He strikes me as the type to have that end game in mind without talking about the big picture publicly but the main thing I got out of the Rogan interview is how focused Trump is focused on money and the economy.

He needs to win for this alone.

It has always been out of touch as it originates from academia, which is the dumbest place to get your politics be they opinions, ideologies, or policies. Woke shit nags, the people who espouse it are obvious crybullies, and the whole thing huffs its own farts.

I turned on Fox because they went to talk to some Philly ward leaders. The guy they had speaking for all the Ricans is a D committeeman who can barely leave his house. The joke did some damage for some people but nobody is claiming Trump said any of that or can draw a line to him thinking like that.

This is like "how much does it take to bury a fucking Mexican" psyop that The Atlantic tried to pull off.


They're trying one psyop after another to find one that works. Anything, to try to SWIFT Boat some turnout that they desperately need because they do not have it in the early returns.

This got me thinking (usually a bad idea) and I always say "there's no such thing as blue states, only blue cities", so I decided to look into the history of American elections. I found a few things I think is interesting.

1912, the Democrats only managed to get every state beyond two because Roosevelt ended up splitting the vote between him and Taft.

1932-1944, the Democrats got over 400 EV when the entire nation plunged into a economic depression and entered WWII.

1964, the Democrats won massively because Johnson was able to use JFK's assassination as well as the "Daisy" advert against Goldwater.

In 1992, there was a massive 19m to Ross Perot that would have likely resulted in Bush Sr winning if that wasn't the case. Likewise, in 1996, Ross Perot would get 8m votes which, while less likely to flip to vote, would have significantly slimmed the margin.

So, what does this tell us? Simple: Democrats can only succeed if the other side is too busy infighting, the nation commits economic suicide, there's a massive global conflict, or someone is killed.

Many people say "the overton window shifted to the right" in the US, but in reality, The overton window hasn't shifted much (and to the left), it has mostly expanded to the left.

Obama, Hilary, Biden, and so many other people had positions that nowadays, only "profoundly" republican people hold (no gay marriage is a big one for ex).

The problem is, while the terminally politically brained (lefty retards as well as lefty politicians) shifted a lot, as they are the ones shifting the window, the average person, which only gives a fuck about politics maybe a few months before elections, got completely disconnected from that world.

These people identify as liberals, and they try to catch up to the perceived Zeitgeist whenever they need to go back into politics mode, but unless it's a permanent, persistent pressure that slowly molds them, it will inevitably get to the point where it's too much of a stretch, and the person disconnects their identity from what they perceive the Zeitgeist to be.

Go find the average republican now, and most of them (which don't think too hard about politics) would probably agree to voting for both democrats and republicans of the early 2000s, but these people would be called far-right nazis if they expressed their actual thoughts outside.

Seriously, the program of today's Trump could be copy/pasted to some of the smaller government favoring democrats of 20 years ago, and nobody would notice.

You're still a liberal (by the definition of 20 years ago), you just didn't "catch up" to what being a liberal became, fast enough.
 
I guess checking on NYT and similar sites for live updates on the map votes will be decent enough, right?
