It is absolutely amazing to me in 2024, with multiple government agencies to which employers have to report employees earnings and employment eligibility (IRS, SSS, ICE), we can't know exactly how many unique people are employed at any given time or how many people have started new (to them) jobs.

Oh the government knows. Especially the IRS, they've always been keen on ensuring their cut. You the citizen, however, don't get to know. Its for your "betters" to know, not you. You might vote wrong if you did.

Far leftism/DSA/Squad/progressivism is the most hated mainstream ideology in America. I am going to rate this very optimistic. I know in NJ Rs are leading Ds in early voting, but there is a solid D political machine there. For VA, I want to believe. I know in AZ and NM, Latinos are breaking to Trump by double digits compared to 2016 and 2020 so I can buy that. However, I don't see how GA is blue this cycle.

They're not toss-ups, they're going to Austin Peterson whose running on the Crack & Gamba ticket. So naturally he's taking his home state of VA along with Vegas & Atlantic City.
GA & PA are blue because the democrats are going to cheat right in front of everyones faces and nobody will do anything about it except whine and grift ad aeternum.
Also, New York is flipping red. If I'm wrong, I'll never post in a political thread again. If I'm right, you have to suck my cock forever.

As much as I'd love to see it, it'll be a cold day in hell before New York ever goes red. Look at the census data, the demographics, look at Trump's numbers in 2016 (36.75% compared to Clinton's 59.38%) and 2020 (37.74% compared to Biden's 60.87%) - it's never gonna happen. The Democrats have it locked down for life.

There's only a few scenarios where I can see it flip. All of them are crazy. None of them are in play this cycle.

1. New York decides to do what Maine and Nebraska do, and splits their EVs off by congressional district. (Cannot happen unless Republicans manage to flip and maintain control over their state legislature; both houses are currently controlled by Democrats with a 2/3s supermajority.)​

New York has 28 electoral votes and 26 districts, so most of them would get one EV. The 18th and 20th districts, being the most populous (both have Democrat reps), would get two. Going by the party of each district's elected representative, you get 10 Republican EVs and 18 Democrat EVs. Keep in mind this is going off 2022's midterms; the state got redistricted this year to favor Democrats more heavily, and you might see some variation after the House elections on Nov. 5th.

2. New York City splits off from New York state somehow and becomes an entity similar to Washington DC, where it's not a proper state but it still gets representation in the electoral college. (This will never happen.)​

NYC contains 42.2% of New York state's population, so they get ~42.2% of their EVs. Round (28 * 0.422) to the nearest whole number, you get 12 EVs for NYC (blue) and 16 EVs for the rest of New York (red).

3. The bizarro National Popular Vote Interstate Compact scenario @CEO of Gay posted a few pages back.​
 
Regarding RFK and Tulsi, both are useful tools but not the future of the party. Tulsi clearly has some ambition in a generically unspecified way (just power seeking in general) and as long as she gets some bread buttered and support she's happy to be a loyal fighter though ultimately mercurial. RFK, on the other hand, is completely autistic-tier obsessed with certain things (food, drugs, health, etc) which overrides all his other concerns and will use his metaphorical retard strength to achieve those goals. When you point him at issues of shared importance (FDA, USDA, etc) and properly tard-wrangle him, RFK will be very effective and likely very grateful.

Of the two, RFK is likely the more useful and loyal (if kept on a tight leash) while Tulsi is more generically useful but less ultimately loyal. Both are valuable tools in the arsenal and definitely prove that Trump is magnanimous and practical, boosting his electoral appeal. Neither should advance above their stations and should be well reminded, and often, that they exist by the grace of the Orange Emperor.
 
Suddenly remembered one of my favourite moments about US elections - when the collection of mostly Cuban Americans and others within that collection of Latinos vote Republican and win a state, and then the mask comes off with all the people of the left calling them failed spics and a disgrace to the Latino people.

Every year it happens.
