Someone from outside the existing corrupt system who swings in representing what the less insane lefties want, in such a way that it also speaks to moderates and even the center-right. Whether such a being can exist for such a fragmented coalition is hard for me to predict - I really can't tell if they're all so foundationally incompatible and just held together by corruption, or if it only seems that way from decades of uniparty bullshit, much like how the left still labors under the illusion that the right is just dominated by christian fundamentalists.

The time for that was 8 years ago, when Trump won. Trying to pivot now is far too little, far too late. Trump has basically killed the notion that the GOP is the party of Christian fundamentalists. With that gone, what exactly would a center-left candidate have to offer over MAGA?

The electorate has made itself clear, they don’t want troons in women’s sports, endless illegals flowing in from Mexico, and Soros prosecutors letting dangerous criminals loose on the streets. Anyone trying to attack Trump from the left basically needs to adopt those same policies while somehow offering disaffected Dems something on top of that. I simply don’t think that “something” exists, maybe outside of the (D) next to their name.

This is why I highlight my concerns about the current fractured coalition of crazies the left seemingly is comprised of these days. Trump was widely rejected by the republican party, but it didn't matter because the republican voters wanted him. Past a point, even the democrat establishment can't stop a 'popular uprising' among their people, but that requires them to actually be able to unify under some common sets of ideas that aren't toxic to the rest of the majority. I just can't see that path, but its also hard for me to really see what even is over in that land, as its all masked up by the crazies screeching to the wind.

I don't think they're gonna get such a figure anytime soon, but I stand by that they need it.

I'm really not sure, because a lot of the avowed Marxist types have been given committee assignments, meaning they know things that they can use to hurt the party. Worst of all, they are young ideologues. Bernie Sanders won't do anything like that because he's older and he's played the game. The younger people will try to flip the table if it fits the theater performance narrative in their head.

If the Democrats do not clean house, I see their party relegated to urban elites and little else.

A socialist could unite young people, unions, working people etc. against the big tech, big businesses, big pharma, big oil, big banks. Problem is everything is split oddly in America (probably by design) so that no matter the candidate for either party each one has a mix of endorsments from these categories.

As crazy as it sounds, Trump would be considered a socialist in many countries with a lot of his rhetoric and voter base. He IS the man of the working class but his policies don't really reflect that of somebody that traditionally would have the working class.
All these social issues are important but it's a manufactured distraction to pit what would be socialists against each other.

A socialist that loves the country and has the same social issue stance as Trump would probably resonate with a lot of the current Republican strongholds.

States that sign on to the National Popular Vote Compact agree to assign their presidential electors to the candidate who gets the most votes nationally, not the winner of the statewide vote. The catch is that it only goes into effect once enough states have joined to ensure that they will control the outcome of the election.

That's the biggest problem. They need a Trump but have burned the crop of upstarts that could have become one. And the process to create one will take years. This started with Hillary. They cleared the way for her at the cost of the future. In effect there's been a brain drain.

Disagree, if you start your research from a source that you factually know is biased and gives incorrect information constantly to support a narrative you are wasting your time. With that being said, it's getting REALLY hard to find better sources for information now that the Internet Archive and Wayback Machine are getting purged (Internet Archive probably won't be back) so it's a rather dark time for trying to educate yourself.

The point is that Wikipedia has got a lot of points of information about 1 subject on 1 page, which is very convenient. You can then take those points, fact check them and research further the ones that are accurate as most of the time they're just going to give you the basic superficial surface-level information about a point of information. Especially if something on the surface looks like it supports the narrative.

A "capitalist" is anybody who supports property rights (for everybody, not just themselves) and the economic system of making and selling goods and services to make money in order to buy other goods and services in a free market rather than controlled by the government. First, you always hear that Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assassination, which started WW1, was carried out by "nationalists". Well, they were "nationalists" in the sense that they wanted independence of the various slavic countries from the Austro-Hungarian Empire in order to form a Yugoslavian nation (which eventually happened directly after WW1). However, they were commies and wanted Yugoslavia to be a communist state. (Which also happened, but not until 1945.)

Now onto The Frankfurt School. Hermann Weil was a very wealthy commie jew who was one of Kaiser Wilhelm II's advisers during WW1. Most likely at least one of the people that convinced him to help the commies stage their revolution Russia. (Along with another commie jew Israel Lazarevich Gelfand.) After WW1 he used his wealth to fund his commie son Felix Weil's little pet projects. The Institute for Social Research and its subsidiary The Frankfurt School!

So commies were instrumental in both sides during WW1, including starting it!

"The workers controlling the means of production" is homosexual (and a fairytale told by those who want power as it's always "the government on behalf of the workers") but "the people controlling the means of governance" is based. (As in mostly directly, not via "representatives" in an oligarchy.)

The least bad of the euro swine tend to be British people specifically English people
(mainly because they see their country as actually fucked.) but most euros, leafs, and even aussies get their politics from the media who are almost always left of center.
The main thing is most of the euros you talk to tend to be middle class and almost always the middle class has been raised in from birth to believe this. "The working classes smell". I think the closest they’ve had in the last decade or so is Bernie Sanders, and even then he’s proven to be a cuck who will bend the knee to the very party that screwed him over in favor of generic neoliberal candidates. Even still he’s probably the only left wing politician that people would actually vote for just because of him rather than because he’s a Democrat.

The internal workings of the democrat party are specifically set up the way they are to prevent what Trump did in 2016. Hence why the life-long democrat Trump won the republican primary, and then ran as a republican against the party he had supported for the majority of his life. This also explains, that while very influential in actually winning elections, why the progressive wing of the DNC has little actual say in internal party workings.
