Nah, I'm against using the system as punishment. Besides what good would what you suggest do? They have money to burn and if they admit fault then they would be admitting it to no one as the MSM and history would at best ignore it and at worst spin it as Trump being corrupt and make them out as martyrs.
If they did a crime they should face the punishment, especially since they hold a position of power.

YouGov has been polling me a lot lately, almost all of the surveys are asking how I feel about Kamala and what political issues are important to me. I'm guessing I'm getting so many invites because I signed up years ago as a Democrat and I still claim to be one.
It's normal for me to get polled more frequently close to an election but it's never been this many before. Things must be looking bleak for Kamala.

I do not think that Obama expected his legacy to be Trump. What cannot be denied is that, somehow, eight years of Barack Obama led to Donald Trump. Obama does not want to admit that, nor does he want anyone to point that out. Until the day he dies, Obama will blame Clinton for being Ham in The Sandlot, and Clinton refuses to accept any responsibility for her failure. To be fair to Barack, Clinton and the Democrats all but had that election in the bag, and they fucked up majorly.
Trump is a narcissist. I won't PL too much, but I have family members who had to deal with him and Michael Cohen in the past (long before Trump's political career). Trump is a fucking prick and Cohen, especially, is a slimeball who deserves his fate. However, with Trump, there is no hiding the ball - what you see is what you get, and he lets you know when, why, and how he's going to fuck you. Trump likes telling people how he's going to get them. He likes getting into the mud.
Obama, on the other hand, does not. He is a quintessential Harvard brahmin. Obama carefully crafted his public image and always got pissy when anything threatened it. He tries to hide the fact that he, too, is a narcissist.
Also, between 2008 and 2016, he handed the Democrats a series of important policy victories and pushed their agenda better than anyone else since LBJ. However, that came at a major political cost (archive). Again, being fair to Obama, the Democrats did not pick up the Congressional and Gubernatorial slack while he focused on executing policy.
I guess this is my way of saying that Obama did do the Democratic Party a shitload of favors, but I think they relied on him way too much and coasted for 8 years. As much as I disliked Obama as a president, he was an extremely effective executive. Furthermore, the Democratic Party has been taken over by the lazy, California limousine liberal class and it shows. Obama had to actually go up against Republican opposition after the Democrats got slaughtered in 2010 and 2014. Modern Democrats cannot survive unless they stack the deck, like they do in California, New York, and Massachusetts. I think that Obama called this out all the time and it got hand-waved, only for him to say "I told you so."
Just as a last little note: I really have no idea why Obama didn't groom a protégé. To this day, it perplexes me.
