You don't drop the price of insurance by having healthy people in the risk pool! THEY NEVER JOIN THE RISK POOL. Insurance doesn't combine them EVER, that is against the design of insurance itself.

Every idiot who says healthy young people will save ACA should be whipped with barbed wire until they admit they are actually talking about having young people directly subsidize insurance costs.

Eat the penalty and get high deductible. FFS, I've got vision insurance through work and a checkup and glasses cost MORE with insurance than cash pay. Not premium plus costs, the out of pocket cost.
Cheap glasses are $55 with insurance "picking up the cost" and $50 cash. A proper eye exam (not just a glasses prescription update, which is covered entirely) is 75 dollars copay, 70 cash.
