I haven't seen anything other than unsubstantiated posts about the judge raping the sheriff's daughter. The lawsuit is against the sheriff for allegedly letting rapes happen in his department. The only real tie to the judge is the fact that the sheriff's department also acted as bailiffs in that court, so the deputy knew when the chambers were unused.

It's fucking baffling to me how close this shit still is.
I fully agree that RE7 is a "Good horror game, horrible RE game". But to me, Village is not even that. I had a seriously mediocre time playing it, and regretted every minute I spent with it, by the end. My main issue with CV is just that literal faggot kid and the forced """romance""" he had with Claire. If you take just that element out, I think I'd rank that game on the upper half of the series.
Don't feel bad about the GameCube, it had by far the best version of RE4. It wasn't a bad console at all, and if you were really into RE4 (the second best game in the series, after 3, imo. I could easily see it being first, though. It's insane how fun that game is, even to this day), there was no better place to play it. The ps2 version was alright but didn't look nearly as good, and it would take years before PC players could have a decent experience with that game. You'd have to wait until the Wii version to play a worthy port.
I know this is wildly off topic, but I'd love to hear your opinion on RE4 Remake. I love it, I think the gameplay and game design are fantastic. It does some great things, but it fails on a few others. It's kind of infuriating how close they came to making the perfect RE game, but fumbled on just a few, keys things. The og is still irreplaceable, to me. Not just because of nostalgia, but it has a kind of soul, and characters, that the Remake didn't quite get right.
