I keep thinking that there must be some really great payoff for being Jewish. Because people keep trying to make them stop being Jewish, and they absolutely refuse up to the point of death. Can't fucking imagine what it could be. But every few hundred years someone's like "hey cut out all the Judaism or we'll torture you to death." And Jews are like "YOU GONNA HAVE TO KIIIIIILL ME MOTHERFUCKER!!"

Have you ever been to there? There's towns 50+ miles from any kind of civilization where the people have one of five last names. Check out Danforth if you want to see what happens when an entire town is related.

Let me put it this way: To Catholics, the Ten Commandants are the things that must be UNAMBIGUOUSLY followed because although the consequences may not be readily apparent, breaking those laws even once can potentially fester over decades and lead to the destruction of the community. Everything else doesn't need to be an Absolute commandant, because God trusts us to not be idiotic fuckwads that can't figure most things out on our own. When you get to OVER SIX HUNDRED commandants, that means God no longer trusts you to be able to figure things out on your own with minimal guidance. In fact, that means God has no trust that you won't fuck things up the moment He looks away; and He finds it necessary to spell everything out line by line like you're a complete idiot that can barely rub two sticks together, using the highest threats available to Him so that you will actually listen. Only absolute subhumans need the threat of eternal damnation in order to build a fucking latrine properly.

It isn't widely discussed in the media, but somewhere around one in five Venezuelans fled the country over the last several years and a lot of them out of necessity to stay alive. The country couldn't feed its own people and the average person there lost around 20 lbs. of weight from being at a constant caloric deficit. They narrowly dodged their own Great Leap Forward.

It also seems like a violation of the 5th Commandment. If you are constantly trying to find new ways to deceive and trick God, it's hard to say you fear Him. Generally when you're properly afraid of someone who just gave you a whole bunch of rules to follow, you don't immediately start finding all sorts of ways to technically not break them while breaking the rules and thinking He won't punish you for that nonsense.
