I saw this on Twitter earlier and it reminded me of how when you read about the history of westward expansion and guys who were like half-savage mountain men trapping beaver for a living in the 1700s, you'll also find anecdotes about how those guys typically carried both the Bible and Shakespeare, and were able to quote old Greeks and things like that.
